New location. Now also has three pasta dishes - Edit
They now have café a quiet new location, a little out of the way, but with cozy seating under trees. Besides the ice cream, they also offer various starters, pasta and waffles. Nicely rounded.

Vegan waffle and ice cream - Edit
It offered sorbet ice cream, as well as almond and rice ice cream (at least the day I visited).
Read moreI tried mango sorbet ice cream, which was tasty and the portion was good!
The vegan waffle can be served with vegan toppings (everything but the whipped cream is vegan). I had waffle with almond ice cream, which was very tasty!
There is also vegan hot chocolate with plant based milk. It was also delicious, but it was only warm and not really hot.
There are many customers, even in winter!
Pros: Delicious , Many vegan options
Cons: Many customers

Vegan Ice cream options - Edit
Most of the time there are not only sorbets, but also more creamy vegan flavors based on plant milk, delicious! But be prepared to wait, for the service is often quite slow

Waiting, waiting, waiting and almost only sorbets - Edit
It was sunny day and we wanted to get ice cream, but we had to wait more than half an hour until we could get our ice cream. The waitress is very slow.
Read moreThe ice-cream is nothing special, the vegan ones were almost all sorbets and this isn‘t a good choice if you are looking for some cream ice-cream with chocolate or caramel.

My favorite place - Edit
I love everything about this place, first place I went too by chance when I moved to Basel. Menu rotates different types of made from scratch soups, quiche, and baked goods. There are also delicious waffles!Great drink selection (I love a pot of chai with side of steamed soya) I am crazy for the vegan rum balls! I even requested them special order. I have also ordered whole quiches in advance for pick up. The ice cream is amazing and always have at least 2 vegan flavors (not including sorbets). Great outdoor seating in back, and cozy inside for cold afternoons and evenings. Love that it is a cooperative. There are even a few toys and games available to use, which my kids love.

Great vegan Choice - Edit
I really liked this café, they have vegan meals and vegan desserts! We tried the Hummus with Bread and Olives, it was really delicious, the hummus was so creamy. For dessert we tried a vegan cake which was also really tasty. They have different vegan milk options for your coffee, too! The server was really helpful and nice. I can really recommend this place for vegans, veggies and omnivores alike.

Simply amazing and top service! - Edit
Was there for a Sunday brunch, they have vegetarion options, most of them vegan I think, such as vegan quiche, soups, breads, and nice ice cream. It’s small and has a nice atmosphere. Totally recommended if you’re looking for nice vegan options in a fine location.

Cute place with cozy courtyard - Edit
Acero is more than just ice cream and waffles; you’ll find soup, quiches, and some tasty mezze snacks too (several vegan options). I tried the Mezze-Teller, which was tasty but not over-the-top. I’d definitely go back for the atmosphere though, and to sit on the hidden inner courtyard in summertime.

Very good ice-cream! - Edit
Acero is located next to the river Rhein, so it is very inviting to stop by for some ice-cream. The options are clearly labelled and besides the typical fruit sorbets they also offer some more creative options like rum-crocant ice cream or sesame. The portions are quite small, but indeed worth their price!

Best place in Basel if you are a vegan - Edit
Very cozy and at the same time progressive place. As a vegan you will not have a problem to find all you need: main dishes, sweets, ice and sandwiches. The place is 99% vegetarian so I really don't catch why the owners don't leave the meat out of their menu :-(

Very good! - Edit
Was in Basel for a few days for a meeting and was looking for vegan places and was recommend here. Very glad I came here! Very relaxed atmosphere with delicious food. They have quiches of which one is vegan (may have to check with staff regarding which one) and vegan ice creams which are marked vegan as well as vegan waffle cones. Apparently this place is run as a co-op so worker-owned which I find admirable. Luckily though the person I was with spoke German, because otherwise it didn't seem like the staff working at the time would have understood me. Cash only, about 1 min from Rheingasse tram stop. Cost me about 13CHF for a slice of quiche and a cone of ice cream.
