high quality food!!

I came there and was starving. I ate the hummus plate and liked it a lot!
it’s so super fresh and you feel with every bite how healthy and vibrant that food is.
it was enough for me but i wanted a dessert (they have cookies and pudding). and i ordered the rice bread assuming it was a dessert😁but then i at least found out that (grilled/toasted) rice bread is soooo delicious (it’s just bread though). smoothie was also nice. will definitely go there again for the breakfast. they also have nice coffee variations with coconut milk for example.

Pros: hummus plate, definitely the rice bread , the grumpy guy working there (owning it?)😁(j/k)

Healthy and fresh

The owner, a friendly and enthusiastic guy, convinced us to try his restaurant after giving us a tour of the kitchen. The menu is seemed limited, but food is fresh and tasty. (We were given a single-page laminated menu, but I later noticed that the table next to us had a more extensive multi-paged menu,. Perhaps ours were just the lunch specials.🤷🏻‍♀️). While our meals could’ve used a tad bit more spice, this was undoubtedly one of the healthiest and lightest vegan meals we had in Thailand.

Sweet, Restful and Clean

Great to have this kitchen reopened. The food is simple and delicious, the staff and owner are dedicated and fluent in nutrition and new age hippie cuisine and they no longer serve honey or have any animal products on display in the shop. Thanks!

Cute Place

Cute, homely little place with only about 3 or 4 tables in the patio area and a garden. Dishes are quite interesting and they mostly grill instead of frying and don't use any sugar at all in the restaurant so food is healthy and it is also tasty. I tried the falafel plate which was a great meal but the highlight for me was the chocolate mousse which was divine.

Pros: All vegan, Tasty and healthy, CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

Cons: Limited seating

Fresh and healthy food, but not vegan

Small place with just a few tables on the patio and a shop inside where they sell clothes, jewellery and yoga stuff. The owner was friendly and talked a lot about how he uses fresh quality ingredients. I tried the moussaka and it was quite good, even though it lacked seasoning. I was also a little disappointed to see that the place was not vegan, even though it says so here on HappyCow and even though they have a sign that says vegan inside the shop. Two dishes on the menu had honey in them and some of the jewellery in the shop were made of bird feathers.

Pros: Fresh and healthy food

Cons: Not vegan

Hi Lena I checked with the owner and honey isn't used in the restaurant at all, I'm not sure about the bird feathers in the jewellery though.

Friendly Vibes, Quality Ingredients

You can tell the food is prepared with alot of love. The owner took time to show me the specials. They use quality organic ingredients and the food was home style nourishing. Will be back for more!
So have had: Geministe, lentil soup x2, avocado salad x2, hummus, carrot cake x2 and the little dark chocolate with cacao nibs. All delicious!

Friendly staff and healthy food

Friendly place with several healthy options to choose from. I had a plate with multiple smaller dishes (brown rice, hummus, pumpkin, chickpeas, beets and more) which had a good taste. They also have a lot of different juices, smoothies and shakes.

Disappointing but fresh.

We sadly did not get friendly vibes from this place. We were looking forward to their excellent menu of plentiful vegan dishes, but it was their last day of the season so they had nothing in. We had the option of a falafel plate so went with it.
It was delicious and fresh, it's just it took nearly 40 minutes to arrive when there is not a whole lot on the plate that we ate within 5 mins.
I also was given an entirely different drink to what was ordered, but drank it because it took over 15 minutes to come and I couldn't wait any longer for another drink and was already very hungry.
Got the feeling they had their minds on it being their last day until closing for 3 months, so were not very bothered about our custom and not prepared, which is understandable.
It did seem we were a burden though, especially as we were told we must pay as soon as we started eating, because they were having a late afternoon break for 2 hours (which we weren't aware of from looking on here or Google at their opening times).
I don't want to come across all negative, because it was yummy food and freshly made, it's just our experience was not very good in honesty.
I think it is best to visit here during tourist season, as I am sure it has plenty more available then and things are more relaxed and prepared. We caught them on their last day sadly, and I think it effected them a lot.

Pros: Organic, Freshly made, Yummy

Cons: Drinks and food took long time to come, Not very much for price, was still a bit hungry, Unaware of sudden 2 hr break, had to pay eating

10 stars for the service

Wow the owners are SO friendly! I came here and I was so surprised because the owner asked me "What would you like to eat?" I didn't even check the menu, he customized a dish exactly like how I wanted it.
First time in my life that I experience true service like this. Oilfree, no nuts, extra veggies, etc. etc. Everything I requested they made happily for me so I didn't feel obliged at all.
Besides that, the food tastes amazing, all very nutritional and the place has just so many good vibes.

Conscious Vibrant Soul food

Such a speciel place - I love it!
The food here is healthy, hearty and delicious.
It is well-prepared, fresh and soulful using flavours from both Greece and India.
The owners are a beautiful greek couple with a love for what they do. They are consciuos about how they prepare their food and the quality of the produce is often organic or pesticides free (which is rare on Koh Phangan).
I ordered "something raw", and they spoiled me with an organic vegan salad with greek olive oil, pumpkin seeds, avocado and fresh greens. Their lentil soup is also amazing (not raw).
Their menu changes more or less every day - go and ask, and prepare yourself to be served real, vibrant food made with love, good energy, a conscious mind and amazing taste!
GO - I'll be there! ;-)

Superb

I stumbled upon this gem and was totalled taken in by the family atmosphere of truth and integrity. Not lots of signage, but was to find out a steady stream of repeat customers. My grilled mushroom sandwich was vegan and excellent quality. I promise you’ll have a perfect experience, just put phones away, slow down, and get to know owners... beautiful..

Pros: Clean, Atmosphere , Best of food quality

Delicious healthy food

Akhasa Home is located on the right hand side of the main road as you travel north out of Srithanu. Seating is in a covered outdoor area which is comfortable and absolutely spotless. However, the proximity to the main road means there is some noise.

It is a family run business with three people working on the occasions I was there. The restaurant is very popular and was almost full every time I visited. Given its popularity, lack of staff and the fact all food is cooked from scratch, service was a little slow.

Despite being very busy, the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They insisted on wiping down the table, before I sat down, every time I visited which was a very nice touch.

Although not a vegan restaurant, they are happy to customise all dishes to vegan on request.

I visited three times during my time on Kho Phangan for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

My breakfast recommendation is “Coconut milk porrighe with Banana” (sic) (120 THB / £2.40), “Twoslices brown Rye bread w/tahini,row taco, honey with row nuts and chia seeds” (sic) (80 THB / £1.60), or the “Dried and fresh fruits salad” (90 THB / £1.80). The “Arabic organic coffee” (50 THB / £1) was the best coffee I had on Kho Phangan.

My recommendation for lunch or dinner is the “Macrobiotic set with lentil soup”. It is available in large (240 THB / £4.80) and small (180 THB / £3.60) sizes. I have a good appetite and found the large size quite filling.

I tried various deserts including the “Super choco-nuts ball” (60 THB / £1.20), “Chocolate mousse” (60 THB / £1.20) and “Banana cake” (60 THB / £1.20). All were delicious but I particularly enjoyed the banana cake.

The “Goji berry, wheat grass, strawberry” (sic) (90 THB / £1.80) juice was very watery and not particularly enjoyable.

Akhasa Home is one of my favourite restaurants on Kho Phangan and I thoroughly recommend it.

Pros: Delicious, Healthy, Big Portions

Cons: Slow Service, Watery Juices, Short Staffed

Healthy delicious food

It's a great place with a lovely atmosphere. The food is tasty and healthy and the owners are really nice people. If you are vegan, be careful when you order a breakfast, because you might get served a yoghurt - happened to us anyway - but the rest of the menu is all vegan. If you are in Sri Thanu(the vegan capital of Thailand) you should definetely visit this place.

If You Like Macrobiotic Food, You Will Enjoy

I am not a huge fan of macrobiotic food, as I often find it to be bland for my taste. I did, however, enjoy my macrobiotic veggie bowl here. If you are looking for exciting, spicy flavors, this is not your place. If you are looking for wholesome and health vegan food, this is a perfect spot.

Pros: Healthy food

Wonderful place - food with love

When I heard that the macrobiotic place was replaced with an all vegan cafe I was excited to try this. It's run by a Greek couple who put tremendous love into what they do.
Their main option is a set meal (brown rice with small sides) which is an amazing mix of very different flavors. The half size set is large enough for one, especially if you get the soup with it. I loved their seaweed soup, very hearty in itself.
They offer medicinal teas, smoothies, and also have a shop selling all kinds of vegan products/staples and superfoods. Their desserts are out of this world and everything offered seemed healthy and balanced.
I wish they'd drop yogurt as an option so this could be listed as vegan on HappyCow.

Pros: beautiful people, amazing food, healthy
