Overhyped and expensive! - Edit
Overall, the food was pretty okay but it is vastly overhyped and very expensive for the food that you get. I would not go back and spend $30 on a few appetizers that taste medium okay.

The venue was gorgeous! I think I even went long before when it was nightclub or bar…the food was good and I really enjoyed the experience and staff.

Don’t get it - Edit
Another over hyped restaurant. Sure the room is beautiful, impressive even and the service is incredible but the food really lets it down. The hummus was weak and thin, not much flavour, the pumpkin dip was really sweet and the aubergine/eggplant too lemony and didn’t have the deep smoked richness it should have done. The pita was hot but very doughy. The kebabs were decent but not amazing. They’re trying too hard to be fancy but not delivering on the product. Would not go back.

Vibrant Food & Venue - Edit
Menu items for everyone. My son had no idea the preserved lemon cured tuna was vegan. I loved the flavoring of the mushroom tofu kabobs. Attentive servers and helpful host.

Unbelievable! - Edit
This restaurant food was beyond delicious. Great location in Chelsea. Everything was fresh made and unique. Like art. Atmosphere and decor was moody and elegant. We absolutely loved our meal from start to finish. The roasted eggplant dip with the herbed pita bread was out of this world. Our main course with the “side up eggs” was delicious and interesting. We also had sides, which were very good as well. We particularly enjoyed the potatoes and the carrots. We more than highly recommend this place. The chefs are awesome. The servers explain exactly what was in the food and the ingredients and technique that was used.

Amazing experience - Edit
Easily the best vegan restaurant we've ever been to. The egg and meat tasted so real if it wasn't a fully vegan restaurant we would've questioned it. The khachapuri was so so good and the desserts were very balanced and delicious. Highly recommend!

3.5 Stars - Edit
Went for lunch on the weekend and didn’t wait for a table which was great. Ordered the chicken gyro rolls, chicken kabobs, khachapuri, confit potatoes, and ekmek Malabi for dessert. Three of us splitting everything and it was a perfect amount of food, we even had a little bit of everything left over to take home. Drinks came out first and the cokes were flat and something was off (both of us who got cokes agreed). Didn’t love the chicken gyro rolls but the chicken kabobs were outstanding. Crispy, flavorful, and a perfect texture. I also absolutely loved the khachapuri. Great flavor and texture. Confit potatoes were fine but heavy on the lemon. Ekmek dessert was delicious! Overall, we enjoyed but a few things that brought the rating down.

Excellent, with maybe too-big portions - Edit
What an excellent experience. The food was fantastic but either we over-ordered or the portions are too big because man did we leave full… and no room to try the beautiful-sounding desserts! I will definitely go back to try a wider range of menu items. Everything we got was really fantastic (but they overdo it on the “caviar” in my opinion). This is a place where more is more, so go big or go home!

Amazing vegan food - Edit
The food here was very delicious and our server was so nice. I would highly recommend the dips (we got the hummus, ricotta, and eggplant which were all great) and the manti lamb pockets. For dessert we got the date cake which was also really tasty. Will go again!

Some things need improvement - Edit
I had the amazing raw tuna dish and the eggplant mezze. They were both delicious.
Read moreHowever…I ordered the mezcal cocktail, but it was too sweet and couldn’t drink it. They graciously replaced it with a Manhattan. The date cake had a chocolate sauce that tasted like Hershey’s chocolate sauce and the canola cream was that… vanilla!
I still recommend it, but don’t order the date cake.

Cons: Date cake, Cocktails too sweet

Luxury experience - Edit
If you can stomach the above average prices, the food is amazing, although a lot of their protein tries to mimic the flavor and texture of meat. As someone who usually does not choose to get food that is pretending to be meat (with the fear that the kitchen made a mistake) their vegan chicken was great and I had no worries as it’s a fully vegan restaurant. The waiter we had was also actually vegan, which was a plus as well for recommending dishes. Their breads for the dipping spreads was probably my highlight.

Amazing overall experience. Food was exceptional, service was great. The egg and cheese flatbread "pizza" is worth the hype. The dips with the herb layered bread loaf was amazing. If we are ever back in NYC, we will be at Anixi guaranteed.

AMAZING!!!!! - Edit
If I could give this restaurant a 10, I would. From the ambience, to the service, to the taste, and presentation, this is by far an amazing eating experience!
Read moreDo not skip the dips and herb bread - they are fabulous! The ricotta and eggplant were our favorites.
The flatbreads are a must. If you like the taste of egg yolks, you can get the traditional Mediterranean khachapuri flatbread.
The ricotta and spinach borek ball was a fabulous appetizer and easy to share. The salmon was so unique and the presentation magnificent!!
We also tried the chicken shush kabob. It was delicious.
Don’t skip dessert. The tahini ice cream was yummy, as was the ekmek kataifi. The vanilla cream was delicious!

Mouthwatering 🥙🧆 - Edit
“Welcome to heaven,” as Guy opens the door to his Mediterranean restaurant. I mean… seriously oh my gosh 🤤 we tried a number of dishes like: Lamb pockets, braised beef pide and 3 mezze dips: whipped ricotta, taramasalata, and classic hummus masabacha with the Za’atar pita. We realized we could have just eaten the whipped ricotta and Za’atar pita ALLLLLL dinner long. It was SO good, I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Really loved the vibe, the interior and the service was excellent. Can’t wait to return and try: Beef mnazaleh, ricotta and spinach borek rolls, tons more of whipped ricotta mezze dip and tahini ice cream!! Thanks Guy!!!! 🤤

Ambiance and service were both wonderful. The food was inventive and novel while still being authentic. Dinner for 2 was $127 with no drinks or dessert, so definitely something to keep in mind! But a nice place for special occasions.

We ordered 2 kinds of kabab which was good, But also fatoush salad which was kind of an insult. it was just lettuce with a few tomatoes and cucumbers definitely not worth 18 dollars and also not fatoush.

Kabocha surprise - Edit
The squash mezze was the last of three I’d picked but it was the standout surprise. The roasted eggplant was as good as hoped whereas the hummus average but the zatar pita made up for that, it was excellent. The artichoke tots were nicely a touch sour. (I did not fancy Willow’s faux things menu but may yet try it in another visit.)
