They have dropped the ball - Edit
This used to be a decent place, but lately, the staff has been unmotivated. Some foods are canned, which is not what you would expect at a restaurant in this price segment.
Read morePros: Considerable vegan options, Hummus and falafel are good
Cons: Staff is indifferent, Canned foods, Selection of antipasti stays the same

Azeitona is a nice and casual restaurant with delicious falafel. There are every time different salads as a side dish. Vegan on request.

Don't even seem to try. - Edit
Nice atmosphere, nice decorations. Traditional setting mixed with pictures and decorations suggesting they don’t take life so seriously. Nice!
Read moreBut it seems they’re not taking their food seriously either. Why was the Okra so salty? Probably came out of a can. Soup was acceptable. Peas with hummus was ok.

Disappointing - Edit
I really like the Azeitona in the Schanzenviertel/Beckstr. and assumed to get a similar experience here. But the room was not cosy and cold, especially when sitting close to the window. The still water seemed to be tab water and the mezze that came with the falafel were also very cold. The hummus was bitter. The waitress was busy with her mobile while I was eating. I will definitely not come again.

Falafel and hummus ok - Edit
I ordered the Falafel plate to go. Later I realized that they did not pack any bread to my meal. The falafel and hummus were ok. The beet salad tasted blend like it came straight from the can. There was also a lentil (or bulgur?) salad which did not taste fresh so I did not eat it.

Good food - Edit
Love the spinach salad and the hummus. Unfortunately the staff is often very stressed and therefore comes across unfriendly.

Vegan Mezze - Edit
The food was great and came amazingly fast. There was only one (very friendly) waitress so when more people arrived for lunch, everything took a little longer.
Read morePros: Falafel 😍, All "Antipasti" options -1 were vegan , Cute decor

Not worth it - Edit
Sadly the worst falafel I've had in my life.
Read moreI don't expect falafel in Hamburg to taste like it does in Lebanon (although, it is possible), but this was just ridiculous. The falafel was so dry and tasteless, and there was no hummus in the pita. The guy working behind the counter clearly didn't want to be there, and for all of that we had to pay €5 per falafel? No thanks!
Cons: Rude staff, Too pricy, Tasteless

Always worth the visit - Edit
We come here regulary. It is a nice atmosphere, there is also a comfy couch area. Very easy going restaurant and staff. I tried most of the dishes, there is selfmade lemonade. The mazza is awesome and more than enogh food. We love it!

Best falafel in town - Edit
In my humble opinion, they serve the best falafel in Hamburg. They also offer a vegan burger where the patty is a big falafel :-) Very tasty! They offer lots of vegetable mezze and vegan sesame sauce. The fries are also very nicely seasoned.
Read morePros: Very tasty and authentic, cheap, friendly service
Cons: Sometimes they put yoghurt sauce next to the salad, the burger is ALWAYS wrapped in paper
