Great food, clearly labeled

The place is always full. Living nearby, we get take out and eat on site all the time. Most of the vegetarian dishes can be vegan, you just need to request it vegan. The staff is super friendly. Especially hot hell fried rice is great. You can also take any sauce with any kind of noodles/rice.

Pros: Several options , Tasty, Big portions

Great food

I ordered a table for two, and the place is cozy. They have crammed quite a lot of tables and chairs in the room, so it's hard for people to actully pass by a table and get to the chair by the wall. You also almost feel like you're dining with the people around you.

There is no separte vegan menu, but the staff is knowledgeable about vegan food, and it seems like many if not most of the dishes can be veganized.

I had a kind of red curry rice dish, and it was very tasty. Also, it's so much food. I love it, but for a lot of people I think they could prefer to have the dishes a bit smaller. My date had a vegan pad thai, which was also really tasty. I would definitely come back.

Pros: Huge portions, Tasty, Cheap

Cons: Too crammed, No draft beer

Large portions, no labelled vegan options

We wanted to go here before a show at the nearby Cirque Royale. Was waiting at the entrance with several others at 5.30 pm. Nobody came. Nobody answered the phone.
Finally a staff member arrived at 5.50 to open the doors. Grrr.

So then it took some time before everyone's order was noted and drinks came.
I found the menu very confusing. The 'chapters' are according to the type of noodles used. And then you can choose your add-on protein (tofu available). No allergene info available on menu.
So there isn't a 'seperate vegan menu' as listed in the Happy Cow description. Sending an update to have that changed.

Had the Mee Zou (wheat noodles) with tofu and the Pad Thai without the egg.
Asked about eggs in dishes and was said 'no eggs', but it all went very quick, so have no idea whether he had any clue about the noodles.
Both 16€. Fair price. Very large portions.
0.5L water was 5,5€.
All dishex are prepared in same wok frying pans, but we could see they were cleaned out between every dish (open kitchen).

Inaccessible. Large steps at entrance - also to get in restaurant room.
Narrow and dangerours spiral stairs going down to toilet. 1 Toilet, very small (larger persons cannot get in).

I would only go here again if I was really really really hungry, with no other vegan options around (which unfortunately is the case around the Cirque Royale).

3stars, because they were very large portions and friendly, otherwise 2 stars.

Cons: Respect your opening hours, Not so clear about veganoptions-sauces, noodles?)

Several vegan options

"Better than hungry" offers various meals, like rice or Udon noodles, which you may get served with meat or in a "veggie" version (not further specificated) as well as with tofu or shitake.
Everything is clearly marked. Pay attention, cause some noodles contain eggs.
I tried Bami Noodles with Tofu and for dessert the vegan coconut milk based mochi ice cream.
Delicious.

Pros: Delicious, Several options

Cons: service may take a little time

Big portions, delicious food

It truly is better than hungry. Bc the portions are incredibly generous and I finished my fried rice feeling a bit too full. Amazing.
