Vegan heaven - Edit
I believe that if heaven exists, it must look like this shop! Just brilliant. Their sweet treats and other in-house baked goodies are just unbelievable. Almond croissant being my personal favourite.
Read moreAlso, they probably have the best selection of vegan cheese in Scotland. I love blue cheese but never tasted an acceptable vegan alternative, until I discovered Black Rabbit. Their veganzola literally took my breath away, tasted like the real thing!
They also stock other products I haven't seen elsewhere in Scotland. Really unique.
The owners are incredibly nice and helpful.
Pros: Incredible sweets, Nice owners, The best selection of vegan cheese
Cons: Almost no seating

Fantastic! An amazing addition to Edinburgh - Edit
After months of hearing great things about Black Rabbit, I finally made it in earlier this month. We got some absolutely delicious food to take away and eat on the Meadows (breakfast roll and tofu Benedict) as well as plenty of artisan vegan cheeses and bacon to take home with us. The veganzola cheese has been a real highlight for me as I used to love blue cheese before I went vegan! We will definitely be back.

This place does it all - gorgeous food, amazing coffee, cakes and treats plus they stock reasonably priced vegan food to take home and cook yourself. They have a great selection of cheeses, tofu and substitute ingredients. This place is a gem and you need to try it! It’s the vegan thing to do 🌱💚

I came here for breakfast one morning, I had the haggis and tofu scramble breakfast roll, plus a pot of peppermint tea ☺️ It was so delicious and it was such a nice warm place to be on a winters morning! I even got a biscoff cruffin to go (which was lovely too 😄)

My mom and I visited in the evening to get a few treats. We got a chocolate mint (cupcake) and a Cranachan. They were both absolutely delicious!

Quick brunch - Edit
I wanted to see and try something from top Happy Cow bakery/cafe in Edi. My intention was to sit down and enjoy coffee with something from menu. That morning they were full so I decided for takeaway option. They made my bagel in front of me so I could see that they are making really filling bagel for me with great ingredients. I really enjoyed my bagel and definitely will come again to try something sweet. The owner was great, calm and quick.

Amazing food and friendly service! - Edit
I had the bacon and egg roll which was incredible!! So tasty and came with a lovely celery soup. My partner had the double tofu Benedict which he was very very impressed by (he couldn’t stop going on about it all day!). I also had one of the biscoff brioche knots which was basically perfection. The staff were so friendly and it was a super cute cafe. Will definitely be going again!

We also shared a cruffin and it was truly amazing! Sadly we live far away but the next time we visit Edinburgh we’ll definitely come back!!

Award winning savoury scones with homemade cashew butter. Vegan egg and bacon roll is delicious, as is the quiche of the day with kale salad. Egg Benedicts with bacon was out of this world! The biscoff cruffins are original and so good! So much to choose from this is my new favourite lunch spot and after work hang out. Nice vibe with good music and they care about the environment too!
