Two thumbs up on the chocolate coconut gelato. It’s creamy and has nearly the same consistency of dairy based gelato. We later purchased a pint of this gelato at the Newport Market.

Having gone whole food plant based since our last visit to Bonta, imagine my delight at finding both gelato and sorbetto vegan offerings! Every bit as creamy, silky and delicious as every other Bonta selections. Brava!

I'm shocked that this is the first HappyCow review for Bonta! Although you can buy their sorbetto at the grocery store, visiting the shop for a cone in the middle of summer is essential.
Read moreI wish that they had more dairy-free options, but the coconut flavors are delicious with a good texture in particular. You can also try mixing in some of the Jem nut butter (available in the front) for some additional variety.
The line can grow long during the summer, but service is relatively fast regardless and the staff are super friendly.
Pros: Vegan ice cream cones, Great location
