Amazing flavors! Maravilhosa! - Edit
You can sample all sorts of exotic flavors and it was a tough decision! We settled on guava/vanilla, palha Italiana (an Italian cookie), blackberry, and hazelnut/chocolate. They don't use coconut oil, yet have an amazing creamy consistency. The bakery casa looked delicious, too.

Incredible! Delightful. I'm delusional with euphoria after finishing my breakfast of coffee and ice cream here at Hoba. Brazil wins another new title. Best ice cream on Earth. Came in early to watch the tubs get loaded into the display case while the super friendly staff set samples out for me. I tried four. Could not decide. Didn't have to!

Pink Lemonade, Passion Fruit, Blue Matcha and Some Crunchy Nutty Caramel Delight. So sad to know my life has been missing these treats since before today. Seriously, cheerful and friendly staff makes this the correct first stop in Rio for anybody who wants to live well. I'm cursing myself for not making this ice cream parlor my first stop in Brazil.

Read moreMy recommendation: It you are lucky enough to go on the carrot cake ice cream day (bolo de cenoura) grab a bite. It's a rare ice cream and I really like it. Also love the passion fruit mousse ice cream and the cookies.

This place is incredible. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is excellent. I can say that I have already tasted all the flavors of the house. My favorites are Paçoca and Azul. The house coffee is also very nice. Sometimes, I have tried brunch, it is worth the experience. The brownie with Paçoca ice cream is delicious. The location is good, not so far from the metro. There is no way to visit Rio de Janeiro without knowing this 100% vegan ice cream shop.

Read moreInsanely creamy ice cream — I’ve never been so worried about whether my ice cream was actually vegan. I then learned that they use a cashew, potato, and rice base which is super creamy without the hints of coconut you often get with other vegan ice creams.
Because of covid they only serve ice cream in cups and cones on weekends, but you can get mini tubs on any day, and they’re always open for dine-in. Their chocolate gelato is heavenly!!
Their paçoqueiro is delicious too, almost as creamy as Creme de la Creme is Prague, but could use a tad more salt and isn’t as creamy as their their chocolate ice cream.
