Italian food is my go to. I saw the reviews about the lentils arancini but I wanted to try something that was not reviewed. I had the vegan pizza. The crust - by the way - oh my god! It was a proper Italian crust! The cheese was silken tofu made to look and taste like cheese. When it’s hot it’s good, when it cools down it tastes like vegan egg white. The location is sad and the service is poor. #Veganuary

Good food - Edit
Good food. Service wasn’t great and I didn’t love the ambiance (I sat outside and it’s right next to a busy street.) The lentil arancini was pretty spectacular though, I recommend it just for that.

Vegan Italian Options - Edit
This review is for their second location, further down 5th Ave. I was shocked to see many vegan options at Casa Sofia, however they were out of a few ingredients so my selections were narrowed down (common in PDC).
Read moreThe food itself was good, not the best Italian I’ve had. Their rice ball app was made of lentil and was creative, it was probably the tastiest part. My ravioli with vegan ragu lacked some punchy flavor (probably canned ingredients) but was surprisingly good for what I’d expect in Mexico. Over all, I left super full and happy, but expected more flavor. It’s also worth mentioning the sauce is not included in the price of the pasta dish, it’s two separate costs. A little confusing/ surprising at the end.
I might return and try the pizza when they have vegan cheese in stock.

Awesome vegan options - Edit
I can’t eat tomatoes so I was worried but I was able to get their vegan burger with fries which was so good and they have vegan cheese! I also tried their gnocchi with aglio olio peperoncino sauce, it was a bit salty but still really good.. I would try it again. Love this place will continue to visit!

We are so happy we ate there because the food was really good. We took two raviolis, one with some tomato sauce and soya, the other was ravioli with garlic, chilly oil sauce, we took also pizza margarita with mushrooms which was well made! So good.
