Tried to go here twice (once in the evening and once for lunch) but was closed both times. Does not appear to be a restaurant anymore.

Chijuya - Edit
Nice place in China town. The staff didn't speak English well, but I don't blame them. It was great experience here. Surprisingly amazing food.

Not good and not our place - Edit
We visited Chijuya with good reviews at Happy Cow. Unfortunately we don't agree with the mosth reviews.
Read moreThe menu is very large, in my opinion to large. Some dishes are with photos.
I asked the waiter for a recommendation because I was overwhelmed with the menu. She recommended some dishes to us by pointing to the menu - she has spoken no word English. We had to point with our finger at the menu what we want to order because she hasn't understood English and she had to read the Thai words behind the English menu.
The food was very expensive and the food wasn't to our taste.
We ordered the mixed sushi plate. There were three different sushis - but everyone tasted nearly the same (only the outside was different). It was sausage in every three sushis - why they put sausage in sushi, we felt a little bit strange.
Then we had a warm dish - japanese pepper vegetables. It was good but nothing really special.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.
Pros: Everything vegan
Cons: Expensive, Nothing really special, Staff speaks no English

Cozy little place and excellent sushi - Edit
So many options that it is difficult to choose from. We liked all makis, but of course some more than others. In the end, we ate too much 😅

Japanese food in Chinatown! - Edit
The owners kindly let us enter to eat even though they were technically closed and we were so grateful! Very quaint and simple restaurant with great, affordable food.

Lovely place - Edit
The owner was really sweet old man. All the food was vegan and had a lot of mock meat in it. We liked the food and the atmosphere. Food was also cheap.

Creative sushi and mock fish/meat - Edit
A hidden gem in China town. A very simple and modest diner but the food was 10/10. I had a bento lunch box which I really recommend to as it is quite filling and has bits of different things: sashimi imitation (mind blowing!), some “pork” and rice, miso soup, veggie broth, and a bit of salad. I also had avocado maki which was also sooo good, but I was already full when I finished the bento box, so I guess I couldn’t properly enjoy it 😅

Worth a try for sure! - Edit
The food sure was an experience lol.
Read moreThe place has noooo atmosphere. White walls and silent, but the service was kind. I can’t remember the name, but the first thing we had was reminiscent of tonkatsue, and it was very good!
We also had the raw “fish” sushi boat. I’ll be honest, it didn’t taste at all like sushi, it didn’t really taste like much. The look and texture were amazing though! Glad we tried it, but don’t need to do it again.

Great Place (especially for sushi) - Edit
They have a huge menu with pictures and are fully vegan! (Their menu explains it very specifically 😉) A lot of dishes to share with different mock meats. No-frills surroundings and the owners don't speak the most English but are very attentive and kind.

Tasty, but not sure it was vegan even after requested. - Edit
Hidden local sushi restaurant. Nothing too fancy, but friendly owner and quick service. The sushi / maki I had were quite tasty, but I'm not sure they were vegan, even after I had asked the owner about it and she confirmed it for me. The mayo tasted extremely real and just too egg-y. If they use a vegan version, they are the first to fake the taste that well. Also my stomache was a little upset after.
Read moreMaybe it was vegan after all and that was just a coincidence.
Overall tasty but I personally wouldn't return.
Pros: friendly, fairly tasty
Cons: out of the way and quite hidden, not sure if vegan even after asking

Japanese masters - Edit
For the last 20 years, those Japanese masters have been crafted their art meticulously. They hide in a Bangkok alleyway and they don't need any recognition, they are just happy to serve you great food for a decent price.

Fully reccomend that place! It is simple sushi bar with 4 Pages menu which contains sushi but also main dishes and soups. I have tried just sushi and I really liked it, also came so fast (it was not busy at The time). It is not fancy restaurant just a friendly place.

Surprising vegan Japanese food - Edit
China town street food has limited vegan options but luckily this place offers delicious food at reasonable price! Staff is very kind and advised us on the menu. Large choice of sushi, noodles, soups and rice dishes, good portions. The venue is not appealing but food is fresh and tasty! The taro sushi we never tasted it before, it was very good!
