Bánh Mì Perfection 🥖

We stopped by ChuMinh Tofu and Veggie Deli before our flight and were so glad we did! The food was fresh and flavorful, but the highlight was definitely the bánh mì sandwich — so good that we ended up taking three more to go! Perfect spot for a quick, hearty vegan meal in Seattle.

Great food

I have never been to Vietnam but the buffet style reminded me so much of vegan buffets in Taiwan, which I loved. I thought the food was great. I want to try their banh mi next time. It is expensive but AFAIK the only vegan place in the ID so that’s something special! And I appreciated their immigrant rights signage. 🥰

Buffets always feel kind of unsanitary to me TBH (like by definition), but it didn’t feel any more unsanitary than any other buffet… the food safety rating is “good” as of now (10/2025). It seemed clean to me.

It’s true that there are many people hanging around outside the parking lot, but the people complaining about that are not grasping total liberation IMO. It has to include humans. No one should be unhoused but as long as people are, we shouldn’t avert our eyes.

Awful

The staff was nice but the food at the buffet was barely warm and most dishes weren’t good. The buffet looked like it was in the kitchen area with someone cooking at a wok right in front of the buffet. It wasn’t very clean either. Sadly, it might be one of the worst restaurants that we’ve been to. There was also a large group of people using drugs on the sidewalk outside of the parking lot.
We all did the buffet but maybe if you ordered off the menu it would be better? WI would just recommend going anywhere else.

Pros: Staff

Cons: Cleanliness , Cold food, Sketchy Atmosphere

100% Vegan Vietnamese Food and Pillar of the Community

With same extensive menu of delicious banh mis, all you can eat buffet ($25 per person), egg rolls, and community service, chuminh is a must visit for everybody.

The menu is 100% vegan and they play a key role in supporting the CID. Without their activism and food, the area would not be the same.

Pros: 100% Vegan Menu , Affordable

Mixed Review

This vegan Vietnamese spot has a nice-looking menu with tempting options like bánh mì and salad rolls. The buffet includes plenty of tofu choices, but at $25 for lunch, it feels overpriced, even for all-you-can-eat. The pay-by-weight option at $12 might be a better deal. The food was flavorful but very fatty and salty.

It’s worth noting that this place gets very mixed reviews, and that’s probably because it has a bit of a nostalgic feel—like the old-school all-you-can-eat American-Chinese buffets. If you loved that style of eating, before going vegan, you’ll probably enjoy it here. But if you didn’t like it before, you won’t like it now. Best to appreciate it for what it is, or order off the menu. Friendly staff, though the location’s a little rough around the edges.

Pros: Lots of fushion tofu options, Rare all you can eat vegan buffet, Friendly staff

Cons: Too salty, Rough Part of Town, Parking

Great staff, but not much more.

The staff was very nice and welcoming, but other than that, it's hard for me to say that I recommend the place.
The area outside around the restaurant feels very dodgy and dirty - which has already deterred me from returning to the place.
The food itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't exceptionally good either.
Overall, an okay place, in the absence of other alternatives.

Pros: Great and welcoming staff., Reasonable prices.

Cons: The food is no more than okay., The area is shady and dirty.

Delicious vietnamese food

Got the vermicelli salad to go. Comes with an egg roll, and two types of vegan protein (don't remember what they're called), and vegan fish sauce. Portion is large, could feed two people. Very delicious.

There is a fenced in parking lot and seating inside. Have also gotten bahn mi before, which are very good.

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Can be scary to walk there

ChuMinh Tofu and Veggie

A lot of homeless people nearby, but outside the parking lot. Portion is huge and great deal for 25 USD. I was a bit scared of sign Food Safety Rating - Okay. It was not cleaned well, because I found places with dust.

Pros: Portions

Cons: Food safety rating - Okay sign, Dust on windows

Unkempt, sketchy, felt unsafe to eat

The person at the counter was polite and answered all our questions, and the food overall tasted good. However, seeing the “ok” health department rating (second from worst rating) plus the condition of the space itself made us feel uneasy to finish our meal (we did takeaway because it didn’t seem like a place we wanted to sit and eat, and my son told us later about the rating.

While we were waiting I saw flies in the dining area.

The buffet was in this side room, completely open, almost seemed like a kitchen area. I only saw one employee.

There were food peelings on the floor, and the interior needs a major overhaul.

Pros: All vegan , Variety , Seemed fresh

Cons: Run down, Low health rating

Great banh mi sandwiches

I ordered the lemongrass chicken banh mi and it was amazing! There was barely any wait for the food. It came with a delicious spring roll too. I would highly recommend this place! I will have to come here again.

Great buffet

All you can eat vegan- what a treat. The food isn’t labeled so I’m not sure exactly what I ate but some of it was really good.

It was okay

My husband and I were so excited to try this place, but we were kind of disappointed overall. We both got the buffet . There were lots of choices on the buffet, but half of them weren't labeled and a lot of them were cold. There was one item I really liked, but couldn't tell you what it was due to the lack of labels. The food that was warm was pretty good. The atmosphere is not great it is like a storage room in the dining area. We were glad we tried it, but we wouldn't go back.

Pros: Lots of options on buffet

Cons: Cold food, Atmosphere

banh mi

My favorite item there has to be the “roasted pork” (taro & tofu skin) banh mi. Though, everything there is amazing.

Huge variety of vegan Vietnamese food

I was surprised by the amount of items on the menu - from vegan eggrolls to banh mis to noodle dishes. I got the lemongrass "chicken" banh mi which was both inexpensive and very flavorful.

Excellent bahn mi

We’ve tried the buffet here as well as a few of the bahn mi. I personally liked the buffet, but nobody else I was with was impressed. 😅 The bahn mi, however, are unequivocally delicious. We’ve tried the spicy tofu, bbq duck and bbq pork and they’re all so good. We love the flavor and texture of tofu skin in the bbq duck, but the spicy tofu might be our favorite. We can’t wait to try more—there are 10 different kinds!

Pros: The best bahn mi, Delicious and inexpensive

Uhm

The banh mi sandwich was very good, as were the egg rolls. I would avoid the buffet, and the “okay” food saftey rating as well as the location threw me off.

Pros: Banh mi , Egg rolls , Vegan

Cons: Cleanliness , Location , Food safety

Great Banh mi

I’ve always heard great reviews and finally made it in. They have great tofu, spring rolls, and banh mi. The bread was so soft and the meat was super flavorful. I was also happy to hear they do so much for the community by giving out free food.

Pros: Kind owners and service, Great food

Cons: Parking

Disappointing now

I'd been to ChuMinh about 5 years ago and really liked it. Food selection was good and the price was really reasonable. Neighborhood wasn't great and the inside conditions weren't great, but for the price, it worked. Now, the prices have increased so much I was shocked. I almost left without getting food even after driving far out of my way to get there. Neighborhood is still bad and inside condition is still not great, but their prices are as if they're in a fancy location in Bellevue. Food is good but I'll never go back with their current prices. Disappointing! Could be a good place.

Pros: food buffets are always fun for variety

Cons: Not impressive inside, Not impressive outside, WAY too expensive for the whole picture

All Vegan Vietnamese Buffet

My girlfriend and I tried this spot after having it on my radar for quite a while, but usually going with one of our other regular choices. We were in Seattle for a concert and were in between lunch/dinner time so a lot of our usual spots were closed. The front counter staff was friendly and helpful with explaining everything since it was our first time. We opted for the buffet, but given the time we were there I probably wouldn't do that again. Since we were the only customers, there wasn't any turnover on the food so some of it had been sitting for a while. The rice was dried out, but the rest of the food was delicious. I'm not sure what the one dish was, but it had a texture like fatty pork and looked like it contained jackfruit and was by far my favorite of everything. I should have asked the staff what it was supposed to be. That being said, we would definitely go back and try dishes off the menu. The prices were also completely reasonable for what you get.

Pros: Variety of Dishes, Helpful Staff, Price

Cons: Small Restaurant, Buffet Food Turnover Depending on Timing, Parking Lot

Delicious and Wonderful owners

This spot is great, the food was tasty and as fresh as can be. Owners were so wonderful and even treated us to some delicious dessert. Brought the growing boy and was treated to a couple toys when we left. Total for 2 adults and 2 children split was around $40.00. Satisfied since we left oh so stuffed and had to take our leftovers home.

Will take pictures on our next trip.

Pros: Fresh Food , Kind Owners

Cons: A bit expensive , Outside area is sketchy
