Amazing food, wonderful service - Edit
Beautiful food, all vegetarian/ vegan and mostly gluten free. Can recommend the sharing platter, it is vegan and gluten free and a great way to taste a number of the dishes. Plus you end up with Abyssinian Sushi at the end - roll the injera base and enjoy the mix of spices and flavours at the end of the meal.

Corarima - Edit
I’ve been to this place a couple of times and don’t know how I haven’t written a review yet! The restaurant is so warm, friendly and cosy. It’s like dining with friends when you’re there, the owners welcome and hospitality are second to none. The food is fresh, flavourful and deliciously fragrant. Beautifully presented in a traditional way. When in Wakefield this is definitely the place to go.

Amazing!! - Edit
After seeing all the reviews on happycow we decided to travel and give Corarima a go and we are so happy we did!!
Read moreFirst of all, the hospitality from the staff was first class - super helpful, kind and funny.
Second, the interior is stunning!! The lighting and decoration makes it so homely.
Finally, the food!!
We got a starter of wedges with sunflower sauce, the flavour on the wedges were similar to nandos peri chips but these were so much better. We then got the share platter for 2 which had a wide range of different curries and other goodies which are perfectly paired with the bread.
Would deffo go again!!
Pros: A vast vegan menu , Lovely staff , Tasty and exciting food
Cons: Big portions

The food is delicious with lots of choice. The food is vegan and mostly naturally gluten free. The staff are friendly and offer advice about the food and drinks. The mixed platter meal allowed us to try lots of dishes and all were beautiful.

Excellent - Edit
Excellent restaurant, everything is vegan by virtue of what it is, not because they are making it vegan, the vast majority is also gluten free as well so a great option for everyone. Some things can be a little spicy but still totally delicious and the owner is lovely with great hospitality. He explains all the dishes well to help you choose if you’re not familiar with the cuisine. All tips are sent to help children in Ethiopia. The telba flax seed drink is absolutely delicious and I will be attempting to recreate at home!

One of my favourite restaurants, I’ve never had food with so much flavour. Everything I’ve tried has been a joy, and it’s wonderful to be able to pick from the entire menu as it’s all vegan, and I’m pretty sure it’s all gluten free too.
Read moreThe owner is also lovely and will love to tell you all about the food you’re eating. If you’re not sure what to pick the mixed sharing platter is fantastic, and they are happy to bring out a selection of starters too if you’re not sure what to choose.
Pros: Amazing flavours, Great atmosphere, Fantastic menu
Cons: Not open every day, Limited drinks available

Great introduction to Abyssinian food - Edit
Really enjoyed going to Corarima for dinner. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and happy to explain any dishes, you learn a lot about Abyssinia! Went for the combination meal which was absolutely delicious, including a delightful flaxseed dish. It's possible to add an extra person to the combo meal, so don't have to be 2,4 etc. Good portion size and value for money as well.

I love Corarima - the couple that run it are so friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like part of the family! The food is so flavoursome, a real treat! We tend to get the combination as I can never decide, but the brown lentils are amazing.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Corarima and we will be back. Ethiopian food is quite unique and so delicious, and this is a great place to try it. They do a great combo plate so you can try a bit of everything. The service is so friendly and knowledgeable which adds to the experience. It's very covid-safe too.

Excellent - Edit
I called in for lunch on a road trip, as this is only about 5 mins off the M1. I decided to stop here rather than try my luck trying to get any good quality vegan food in the services. It really was an excellent choice.
Read moreWe tried Sambusa to start, which is a pastry shell containing onion, lentil, carrot & cabbage. We then got a combination dish for two, which is a chefs selection of dishes containing vegetables and legumes which came with Injera, which are leavened pancakes made with sourdough of teff flour. I also tried a drink called Telba, which was made with roasted ground flax seed and water. The drink was a first for me and tasted like a malted vegan milk shake. Everything about the place was excellent, from the food to the man who served us. I also picked up some of their Berbere spice mix to take home. Well worth a visit. I really love this place

Beautiful! - Edit
Beautiful sums this place up. Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere, serving beautifully presented delicious food and all fully vegan! Portion size was great for me but after a starter and main my husband wasn't quite full but there is no dessert menu. Maybe we just needed to order an extra starter!

100% recommend - Edit
My fiancé and I ate here today and can honestly say it is one of the best meals we have ever eaten. It was our first taste of Abyssinian food and to say we enjoyed it was an understatement. We had the humous to start and the combination plate for two. If you haven't eaten here or Abyssinian before I would recommend this as it gives you a selection of the food. The owner is an absolute delight, so friendly and welcoming. I would recommend booking a table because it is small
