Lots of vegan options - Edit
We had lunch at the Dragonfly Bistro and definitely recommend it.
Read moreAlmost every dish on their menu is vegan or can be veganised. We had a home made vegan 'fishcake' which was really good (the salad which came with it could have been better) and an extremely good chickpea curry.
Definitely try the double chocolate cheezecake Brownie, it's delicious!
The owners were also really friendly.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Good food, Very friendly owners/staff

Wonderful food & great service - Edit
Was in toen on a Sunday and had their meatless loaf Sunday roast, followed by their fruit crumble. Everything is made fresh from scratch and is super tasty. The staff are so lovely.

Delicious Vegan Cakes - Edit
The savoury food looked good too but I popped in too close to closing time to get any, will need to go back! The cakes we got, as pictured, were delicious though - would definitely recommend this place!

Best vegan meal in Wales! - Edit
Exceptional food - we ordered gluten free pasta ragu which came with a side salad and a "Fishcake" which came with a very impressive variety of salad. Tasted amazing as well as such beautiful colours. Also incredibly helpful and attentive friendly staff. Majority of the food was available gluten free too. We also had blondies for dessert. I'd visit Aberystwyth again just to eat here!

Good variety - Edit
We came here for lunch and had the vegan quesadilla, Buddha bowl and a side of chips. Large portion sizes! Nice food although would benefit from a bit more seasoning and more dressing on the salads. Chips were 5* though! Really enjoyed the French yoghurt cake - light and just the right amount of sweetness. Staff were friendly and knew the locals and seemed happy to see them which gave it a nice vibe to be in there. Our second coffee didn’t arrive though but overall a really nice lunch! Lots of variety where dairy can be swapped for vegan cheese. Bet the Sunday roast is lush!

Lovely food, brilliant staff - Edit
A great place for vegan food - almost everything on the menu is vegan apart from a couple of cheese options - but everything can be veganised. Delicious seitan roasts as we were there for Sunday lunch - plus lovely cakes for dessert. The staff are brilliant - friendly and funny and attentive and seem to love working there. The whole place is a joy😄We will be back when we visit Aberystwyth again. I recommend booking if there on a summer weekend as we saw lots of people turned away as there was no space for them. Don't miss out!

Sensational Food, Mostly Vegan Menu! - Edit
As it stands, Dragonfly Bistro is the only vegetarian/vegan cafe Aberystwyth, and I am incredibly jealous that they are not my local vegan joint. I had a wonderful experience here, and I am already thinking up excuses to go back to Aberystwyth so I can have another meal at this cafe!
Read moreI felt spoilt for choice by their predominantly vegan and extremely varied menu, but I landed on the 'Platter: 'Fish' Cake Served With A Selection Of Salads'. The fish cake was really enjoyable, but the salad was my favourite thing about the dish as the care that went into each separate accompanying salad was unlike anything I have ever seen before. The kind and charming chef (who I believe may have been the business owner) took the time to explain to me what each of the SEVEN accompanying salads were, but I'm afraid I only remember the names of the 'Cauliflower in Yogurt', 'Chinese Rice' and 'Quinoa and Edamame'. The food was really delicious and the side of chips I had with the food were homemade, crispy and perfect. I am always pleased when I see fruit smoothies as an option in cafes, and at Dragonfly Bistro, they had a choice of three, and I had the 'Tropical' which contains Pinapple, Kiwi, Mango and Strawberry. This, unsurprisingly, was also super tasty and was also blended in house. Although I was stuffed after my very generous portion, I decided to take a couple of their baked goods away anyway from their entirely vegan selection. The 'Raspberry and White Choc Blondie' and 'Choc Baked Cheesecake Brownie' were sweet and flavourful, but they were not quite as strong as my meal, however, that could be down to my personal preference or them just having an off day as other online reviews praise their baked goods so I'll try some more during my next visit.
I URGE fellow vegans to visit Dragonfly Bistro, and, as was the situation for me, even your meat-eating friends will enjoy and praise the fantastic food. This is an outstanding veg eatery that absolutely deserves all the love and support that they can get! 🌱💚🏴

If i was local I would 100% be a regular - Edit
My friend brought me to this place for Sunday roast, and it was such a lovely place, and great food. The menu is on a chalk board and they had other options other than a roast. But with the roast you had three choices of what you wanted the main centre piece to be, from seitan , meatloaf and nut roast. The smoothies use fresh fruit and you can taste it.

A warm welcome awaits... - Edit
We visited yesterday with my son and I was impressed by the quality and selection of wholesome food and the warm welcome we received as well as the cleanliness of the place. They are able to offer products suitable for anytime of the year eg healthy smoothies and homemade ice cream (it was hot weather!). I would highly recommend a visit to the Dragonfly Bistro in Aberystwyth for all palates...
