Vegan Eats in a Small Strip Mall - Sacramento - Edit
Went on a cold Nor*Cal day for lunch, personnel were friendly, wasn’t super busy until after I arrived and many folks started coming in. Yay!
Read moreI ordered the Horchata with a side of water (sometimes it can be overly sweet, good call on the water- it was sweet but good), burrito El Cántaro con asada, and un Chick’n taco minus onions.
Burrito was huge, generous portion, good but the* smell felt off to me.? I normally eat black beans so maybe I forgot what pinto beans smell like? My bad. My favorite was the taco, I could have gone for more, with lots of lime and salt. Yum! Would recommend!
Location itself has potential, but it’s a bummer it’s in a corner near a smoke shop and there’s litter around the plaza. Interior can be cozy, but overall a streamline layout.

Thumbs up for coming to check if everything was fine, even though just counter service.
Decent size place in the corner of the strip mall. Order at counter. I did not take any of her first time suggestions, combo #1, enchiladas, tacos. Nobody but myself at 3:30, so between lunch and dinner. Since it is far from home, I hope to come back again to try more of the menu. Thumbs up for price performance quality and quantity.

All Vegan Mexican Food - Yes Please! - Edit
10/10, I don’t know what else to say 😆 The only thing I could ding them on is the employee I interacted with was slightly rude for no apparent reason, and they were also out of a few things on the menu I wanted (like Horchata). However, I don’t think you can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu. Honestly I can’t wait to go back here. 🌯 😋

Our second time here, so freakin' good! We ate here our first night in town and last day out for the 4-day Aftershock festival. This place is a destination meal for sure. We came back for the quesa-birria burrito, a favorite. This time I also tried the quesa-birria tacos, and they're incredible. I think you get more bang for your buck with the burrito, it's larger and has beans, plus is a bit cheaper actually. Our group also got the torta, mega quesadilla, and pozole, and everyone loved their order. Our last stop on the way out of town we got the taquitos appetizer, chilaquiles, mole tacos, and bean & cheese burrito. And then the churro ice cream, ughhhhh SO GOOD! Everything we've tried has been excellent. Wonderful flavors. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food!

I think I need to move to Sacramento, this food is that good. Every dish is amazing, tastes super fresh and leaves you feeling good. I usually don’t like vegan cheeses but theirs is great. I don’t know how they do it.

I had a great lunch here, the menu is gigantic so it's difficult to decide but everything was very tasty. One minor critique would be that I would've enjoyed more salsa/hot sauces as the food could've been spicier but everything was still great.

Small place tucked into the corner of a strip center with a varied menu and all homemade. I had a Chiken Tostada and a Soft Baja Fish Taco. The tortilla was thick and handmade, rare for any Mexican restaurant. I overheard someone say the burritos are amazing. Oh well, next time!

Great variety on the all vegan menu. I had the bean and cheese burrito and enchiladas (not at the same time, as much as I would have liked to! 🤣 Lunch and dinner. The enchiladas and side of rice and beans were very flavorful and oh so good!! I’m looking forward to returning next month when I am there again!

I love this place! The potato tacos are the bomb. The ‘beef’ and chkn is so perfectly seasoned. I always get the fries too as they are homestyle, thick and salted just right.

I first discovered El Cantaro in Monterey, so was stoked to learn about this newer location in Sac! This is a fully vegan Mexican restaurant with both veggie and mock meat options. My go to is the spinach enchiladas with xmas sauce - so tasty and perfect meal size with the side of rice and beans they come with. Friendly for gluten-free folks, too.

This is my new favorite restaurant possibly in the world. 🙋♀️ The Chile rellano platter was on point! The horchata is to die for. The flavors in everything was perfection! My husband got the birria burrito and it was fantastic. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to go again! I cannot recommend this place enough!!!!!

Oh my gosh! I couldn't really decide what I wanted so I went with their combo and my goodness! The portions were great, food quality amazing and I can't believe I haven't been here before! I have an onion allergy so most places are a bit of a headache and even when I say ALLERGY** it constantly gets covered in onions. HOWEVER this place, not a single little cutting of onion was found. They were so detailed and fast and accurate I cannot hype this place enough!!
