As far as I am concerned, this it the best place for empanadas in Barcelona.
Read moreThis football-themed corner store offers superb empanadas, that can easily make your mouth water. I have eaten there many times in many years and I have never been disappointed. The prices have gone up, but it's still an affordable treat with good value for money. Sit at the nearby Plaça d’en Joanic and enjoy your heated empanadas!
Noteworthy detail: each empanada has a stamped in abbreviation on it indicating the filling.

€2.50 each. Great for food on the go. I travelled as the only vegan in a group of 6 and this was possibly the nicest thing I ate on the entire trip (maybe due to not trying exclusively veg/vegan places) Artichoke was my fave with spinach not far behind. Clearly labelled. Staff lovely. Highly recommend.

The empanadas - always about 4 vegan options (jalapeño is my favorite) - are delish and they never make it back home in one piece. Insider tip: buy a beer for 60 cents (!) at the corner liquor place and eat the empanadas with beer in the Plaza Joanic.

I was gladly surprised by the food of this place, as from the outside it doesn't look very promising... They have 4 vegan empanadas, everything homemade. They are heavily vegetable-based but they are good and quite cheap!

I LOVE that they have quite a few vegan options to choose from. However, the ones I have tried, which have been about 4 so far, are a bit too salty and lacking on authentic taste of the veggies and other ingredients. Still quite nice to pass there when you’re hungry just to get a quick bite.

Any England fan will not forget this moment from Mexico 86. When I saw the image of Maradona on the window of this place it brought back memories of being a young kid reliving his first world cup. Anyway, they have an excellent selection of vegan empanadas here (otherwise known as pasties in England). They do take the zero meat eaters seriosuly here. An excellent choice in Gracia for a quick take away snack or somewhere to relax with a coffee or beer. Diego ran rings around Peter Reid on 22 June 1986. 30 years later, we have vegan empanadas. Check this place out, a great find and worth its place on Happy Cow.
