Chocolate ice cream - Edit
A few vegan options, but the one I had was absolutely incredible - chocolate peanut butter fudge. Some of the best vegan ice cream I’ve had, and my partner said the dairy ones were great as well so a good option if you need omni choices as well

Great stop on freedom trail - Edit
Great spot to get a treat while making our way over to Bunker Hill. We had a coffee cook scoop and it was delicious!

Hit and miss - Edit
We've been to this location on Newberry Street a couple times now, and I'm always surprised that despite having several vegan items clearly marked on the menu, the staff don't seem knowledgeable about vegan options. During our last visit, I asked if any of the cones were vegan, but neither worker knew, so I just got my scoop of Vegan Smores ice cream in a bowl ($6.85). When the staff person handed me my scoop, it only filled up half the small cup size and was very liquidy. The flavor really was very smores like, which I appreciated. My partner ordered a vegan shake with the Salted Caramel vegan ice cream and paid more to get the Extra Thick Vegan Frappe ($10.11). We could easily suck the shake through a straw (not thick at all in my opinion), and the cup again wasn't filled all the way or even close to it. The ice cream flavors we have gotten were all good (we've also had the chocolate pudding which I thought was just okay), but for the prices and the amount of signage around vegan options, I just expected more. With so many good vegan options in Boston, I don't think we will be coming back to this place.

Best Icecream! - Edit
We just happened to come across this place walking down Newbury street. Caught the sign that said "vegan icecream" and had to pop inside! I got the salted caramel frappe and it was SO good!

The few vegan flavors were awesome! - Edit
Although only three vegan options the day we visited, we tried them all. Lemon sorbet was an expected option, but salted caramel and chocolate pudding were decadent surprises. They were all delicious and creamy. Will be back to try more in the future.

Extremely expensive - Edit
Handful of options that tasted great, but it was way too expensive - $6.10 for one scoop of a vegan flavor. Also, at least when I went a few months ago, tipping was disabled on the POS device (not the default setting, just saying) so I had to tip on venmo. I'd rather go to fomu & support an all vegan place.

Pumpkin spice ice cream - Edit
Definitely the best pumpkin flavored ice cream I've had. Located right next to a fully vegan ramen spot, so the location is great!

“Mmmmmm” - Edit
There are just a few vegan options but don’t let this deter you, probably the best vegan ice cream we’ve eaten. My partner laughed at me because I was making an “mmmm” sound with every spoonful. We had mango and chocolate pudding which tasted like mango lassi and chocolate mousse. Soooo good!

Delicious vegan ice cream - Edit
3 vegan flavors available today: mint chocolate chip, chocolate with walnuts, and coffee fudge (I think?). I asked about cones, and was told they are all vegan. Some other reviews said they weren’t, so maybe they switched cones? I’d recommend asking to verify when you’re there. Anyway, my mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone was DELIGHTFUL. I can’t remember the last time I had an ice cream cone!

The cones aren't vegan - Edit
They have 4 flavours of vegan ice cream and lots of smoothie options. I was told the cones aren't vegan so had to have it in a tub, it would be a huge plus to get vegan cones. The woman who works there wasn't very friendly...!

Decent - Edit
As of October 2021, they had 3 vegan options, can get in a cone for zero-waste. Honestly, the flavor I got (chocolate pudding) was one of the best vegan ice creams I’ve ever had. It was creamy beyond belief and thicccer than a bowl of oatmeal. Was like eating the ice cream version of a triple chocolate cake. Only 4 stars because of limited flavors

Great Icecream but limited options - Edit
Honestly some of the best non-dairy icecream I’ve had. It is definitely an equal to FoMu in my books.
Read moreThe one place where Emacks fails though is in its topping selection. There is hardly anything for vegans. Additionally there are usually only 3 vegan flavors on rotation so you might not get one that you really want.
The Icecream really is delicious though! The texture is smooth and creamy and the flavors I’ve tried have all been great!
I also will say the portions are a but small for the price, but then again, this is Boston.
Pros: Great texture, Thick Frappes, Friendly staff
Cons: Small portions , Limited toppings , Limited Flavors
