Nice sweets, savoury food a little disappointing

When we visited here, there were only sweet options clearly marked as vegan on the menu.
The person working there was very nice though and told us what we could eat. Be sure to specify though, I'm not sure that everyone there understands what vegan means as they first offered an option containing katsuobushi, before asking if this was okay for us.
The only available option was an onigiri set with a small salad and fried soy meat.
The only onigiri options were salt and something I didn't quite get. The mystery one was alright, the salt one was really, really salty. The soy meat was good.
I really tried to like the food as the store is cute and the staff really nice and they offer a vegan option but it just didn't taste very good.

Fortunately, they also offer sweets. Several ice cream options are clearly marked as vegan. We had the mont blanc which was quite nice.
I would come again when craving some ice cream, but I wouldn't come for the savoury food.

Maybe they have more options earlier in the day. We arrived at approximately 17:30.

Nice to have vegan options at the department store!

I was surprised and happy to find that one of my favorite vegan-friendly restaurants in Hirosaki was opening up a sister store in Sakurano (department store).

I went on October 9th during the pre-open period and had the onigiri plate. Some onigiri are not vegan, so be sure to specify that you want a vegan meal when ordering. I got salt-onigiri and pickled plum-onigiri. Depending on the day they may have other vegan options.

Their menu will be expanding on October 13th for their grand opening and will include things like cakes, pies, and curry (the same as their other store).

It's so nice to have vegan options in this part of town because there wasn't much before (just Starbucks).

I'm looking forward to going again after their menu expands!

Pros: good location, organic, high quality ingredients, staff understands vegan

Cons: not all vegan, you must specify
