Amazing vegan options - Edit
The restaurant serves meat but the default menu is vegan. Almost everything is made vegan, even the tamales, and you can add a vegan protein like tofu or mock chicken, and vegan cheese. That being said, the menu does have animal meat on it and they don't bill themselves as plant-forward. I've been vegan for 15 years; my husband for 30 . We're huge foodies. This place impressed us. We tried two different enchiladas, both of the tamales (one is made of yucca!), a Mexican pizza with mock chicken and chorizo called Tlayuda. The rice alone was so yummy. The entree that sent our heads spinning was the chili relleno. The waiters were so kind and helpful (we ate there both days we were in town!) and you could see the pride and love for food in the way they talked about and served our order. Love this place.

Many many vegan options! - Edit
The menu has many, many vegan options marked clearly. Almost all items can be made vegan. They make their own fake meat, plus they have vegan cheese! Super delicious, we really enjoyed our meal, so glad we gave ‘em a try. The Oaxacan Tlayuda was super awesome. THANK YOU Fiesta Oaxaca!

Delish & lots of options - Edit
LOTS of options and super delish. Being a oaxcan restaurant I wanted to try the mole ( never had before). It was super tasty. The balance of the flavors was nice . My partner got the enchiladas and loved them. Yes they’re a little pricier but it’s right downtown near the old town square so what do you expect. Tons of options and they’re clearly knowledgeable. Would definitely visit again.

TONS of Options - Edit
Fully two thirds of the items on the menu have a vegan variant, and they are clearly-marked. The flavors are rich and varied, and there's something for pretty much every palette. I highly recommend the Chile en Nogada.

Mostly Veganized - Edit
I was surprised not only to see a vegan menu, but their regular menu with many listed "vegan option available." They have their Happy Cow sticker proudly on the door. Their vegan protein is a mix of tofu, soy crumbles, and mushrooms. Both our orders were phenomenal and some of the best vegan Mexican food we've had. Menu clearly labeled. You really can't go wrong.

So many options - Edit
It was delightful to see so many items that could be made vegan. My partner is not vegan and we try to find places that work for both of us. The menu items that could be made vegan were clearly marked. The staff was fantastic. Will visit again next time we are in SF.

Flavors - Edit
It's pricey but the mole flavors are amazing. The vegan menu is extensive and everything we tried over several visits was great. I ordered the Chile en Nogada without realizing it was the most expensive vegan option, but it was well worth it. The vegan horchata is a must order as well. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Delicious Vegan Mole! - Edit
Items that can be made vegan are clearly marked on the menu. Tried the Oaxaca Mole enchiladas and it hit the spot! The mole was rich and savory. Appreciate that they make their own “meat” substitute in house which seem like a blend of tofu & mushrooms. Would totally be back to try their other moles.

Mole!! - Edit
So good! So filling. Staff was great. I loved the vegan ‘meat’ blend which I think was tofu and mushrooms. Very rare to find mole that’s vegan. I tried the Oaxacan mole enchiladas, but wish I could have also tried the tamarind ones. And the cactus and jicama salad looked so good too

Very tasty, tons of vegan options - Edit
Almost everything on the menu had a vegan option! My partner had a Oaxaca Mole enchilada that seemed to be filled with tofu and was very tasty. I sampled their two vegetarian (not vegan) quesadillas. Everything seemed to be made from fresh ingredients. Would definitely come back if we return to Santa Fe!

Very tasty mole. Most menu items have vegan options. - Edit
Lots of options. It seems to be mostly substituting tofu in for meat but what we had was tasty. You might have to remind them “Queso Vegano” or “No Queso” if you don’t like vegan cheese.

Our Favorite Vegan Mole!!! - Edit
Fiesta Qaxaca made all my Vegan Mole Dreams come true! Pretty much everything has a Vegan option with a home-made Vegan meat-sub. We had the Mole Sampler with Chips, Vegan Mole Oaxaca, and Vegan Enchiladas, Christmas Style. So good. So Vegan. If you are in Santa Fe, go there!

Fast, delicious, tons of options - Edit
There were at least a dozen dishes that were marked with “vegan option” on the menu, and they used an actual meal substitute (did not ask what it was made of as I don’t have allergies) in the dish to sub instead of just vegetables. We got two of the mole dishes and both were fantastic. The main downside that was that they didn’t have any of the dairy free cheesecake listed on their menu.

Amazing vegan Mexican food - Edit
We three had planned to go to an all-vegan restaurant for lunch, but it was closed for their summer vacation, so searching on Happy Cow I found Fiesta Oaxaca. It is around the corner from the Georgia O'Keefe Museum downtown. The outside patio is small but accommodates quite a few people. We all ordered enchiladas (See pictures) and a piece of vegan lime cheesecake and absolutely loved the food!! The menu is clearly labeled as to vegan options. The staff is delightful, especially Ivanna, our server. She told us up front they were short-staffed and the wait time could be awhile, but it wasn't long at all. I loved this restaurant and in hindsight I'm glad the first choice was closed or we'd never have gone here. Hooray for serendipity and luck! Oh, and P.S., the lemonade is really good. Not too sweet or tart, and there is a non-alcoholic beer option available.

Delicious, friendly, dozens of vegan options - Edit
Fiesta Oaxaca is one of the top vegan-friendly options in Santa Fe. While not purely vegan (they also serve meat), almost every dish on the extensive menu can be made vegan on request, and those items are clearly marked on the menu. Best of all, this isn’t a vegan-by-subtraction situation, but rather vegan-by-substitution: they have house-made (not processed) vegan “meat” and vegan cheese, both of which add a little something and are not overemphasized or heavy.
Read moreEverything we’ve tried is delicious, and the mole dishes are particularly flavorful.
In particular, we recommend the Enchiladas de Mole de Oaxaca and the Chile en Nogada (both of which can be prepared vegan on request). If you’re with a group, it’s worth ordering the mole sampler, which lets you taste all of the different moles with chips for dipping. They also make a great vegan horchata and several vegan desserts (three as of mid-2023).
Unfortunately one of our old favorites, the sopecitas, is no longer on the menu, but the Taquitos Dorados are a worthy starter for a group, and the Garnachas Veracruz are an option one doesn’t see often.
There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service has always been warm and friendly.

Gourmet Mexican and some of the best vegan food in Santa Fe - Edit
We've eaten here a few times and it's always been delicious. Probably half the menu is marked clearly with VEGAN OPTION. From the moles to the burritto, this is not what you expect when you hear Mexican food ... they really know how to cook and bring out subtle flavors and prepare elevated vegan food.
