Very Happy we tried it - Edit
Great atmosphere and comparable in price to non vegan restaurants. Drinks were on the strong side without being to much so. I had the Bordelaise Burger and flavor wise one of the best I had away from home.

Loved this place! - Edit
Very cute bar located within a hotel lobby with a 100% vegan menu. Looks like they also have a DJ for the late hours. I really enjoyed the croquettes.

I tried twice to like this place. - Edit
Had a bad experience here almost two years ago, completely forgot this place existed then randomly was booking a hotel and saw there was a vegan restaurant and was psyched. Immediately when I walked in I remembered my past experience but thought hey maybe they just had a bad night let’s give them another try. I wish I hadn’t, this is everything I hate about vegan restaurants, horrible horrible service and overpriced food. If you took a non vegan person here they would say this is exactly why I’m not vegan. It’s not that the food is bad, it’s just way overpriced and nothing special. These are the places that set veganism back imo. Isn’t the goal to make people not want to eat animal products? This isn’t the way.

Cozy, chill vibes and delicious vegan drinks and food - Edit
I love the food and the bartenders. I don't drink alcohol, but the mocktails are delicious and the cocktails all sounded fun (my friend who drinks thoroughly enjoyed them). The space is large and manages to be both dark and bright due to the bold color choices.

Great vibes and food - Edit
Went here for a date night before a show at the Newmark Theater and was not disappointed. We loved the vibes - perfect for a date night and the food was delicious. I got the French Dip and my hubby got the burger with fries. My sandwich was so big I could only eat half. We also had a couple of tasty cocktails. Definitely would venture here again!

Not high on the list! - Edit
If you only have a few days in Portland, there are many other restaurants that are phenomenal. This one was okay, and it was very expensive for not much food. Stars for being fully vegan and making their own seitan. $17 sandwich with no side, barely left full. Good for cocktails if you’re just aiming for that

Had the bacun gruyere burger. It was tasty, rich and creamy with some sweetness. Very filling and couldn't finish the delicious fries. The watermelon margarita is fantastic.

The food tastes nice and the portion size is fair but somehow I did not feel welcome at this place although being the only customer.

Gets your groove on - Edit
The vegan food here is so very tasty--creative, satisfying, elevated--all available in a chic, spacious bar--we are grateful, Portland! We found the vegan proteins here especially impressive; they have great texture and flavor, always leaving us hungry for more. The decor has some design flair to it, with a downtown cool vibe that can be loud and boozy at times, but if you can find an empty corner and let yourself groove a bit over vegan deliciousness, it can be fun--it's just as good to get it to go!

Cool place, not-so-great food - Edit
Stopped into Fortune before a show with my partner one night. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but we waited quite a while for our food and what we received was disappointing. Everything tasted overcooked to the point of being kind of burned, and for what we paid we didn't receive much at that. The vibe of the place was great, the server was friendly, but we likely won't be back after feeling pretty disappointed with our order.

Great food, small portions, overpriced - Edit
I came to Fortune from Seattle for promises of great food and a vegan mac and cheese flight! The food itself did not let me down - but the portion sizes were much smaller than what was promised on their menu and by the waitress. Other pictures from this location showed large portions of mac and cheese flight and 4 mozz sticks. We ordered both and received only 3 mozz sticks and underwhelming 6-8 oz containers of mac and cheese. Wouldn’t eat here again due to prices alone - $13 for 3 mozz sticks and $20 for $5 worth of mac. Good selection, tasty food, but don’t eat here unless you’re ready for an $80 meal.

Super tasty bar food in downtown Portland - Edit
Bars and vegan food seem to be a trend in Portland right now, and you know what? Nothing wrong with that. We ordered waaaaay to much food and everything was fantastic. The Parm fries and mozzarella sticks were great. The Caesar salad was the bomb. Burgers and steak sandwich was also a hit. A must visit if you are downtown.

Great steak sandwich - Edit
I stopped into Fortune at 5pm on a Thursday afternoon and sat at the the bar. I got a steak sandwich and a watermelon margarita and both were exceptional! The bread was the best part, the ciabatta was warm and pillowy. The steak was soft but also meaty, and all around I enjoyed the sandwich. Would visit again when traveling in the area!

Incredible - Edit
I loved this place. Truly unreal flavors and service. I’m so glad there’s a vegan place open so late at night downtown… weirdly though, it wasn’t filled with people there to try the food, mostly bar hoppers! Depending on your vibe it has what you want!

Unbelievable Food - Edit
The food is incredible. Been here twice and have been blown away both times. Just amazing flavours and good quality food. The portions have felt significant and it’s seriously one of my favorite restaurants. This time we just got the mozzarella sticks and the Mac sampler. The variety on the flavours of Mac and cheese was good and hands down the best mozzarella sticks we’ve ever had. Highly recommend you check this place out. It can get busy and club like late at night. They serve food late!

Live jazz on Wednesdays - Edit
On Wednesdays, they have live jazz starting at 8pm - which is when I arrived. It was a chill vibe, (when I visited) 3 musicians, and from what I could tell if you have your instrument handy, they may even accept you into the group for a few songs/solos. On the Wednesday in early October that I went, there was only about 15 folks there max. Definitely no line out the door.
Read moreI came back late on a Saturday night, and there was a line out the door and loud DJ music that made it impossible to hold a conversation. Definitely a different vibe.
The first bite of my bacon jam & guyere burger was pure heaven. I savored every bite… until the sugar hit my bloodstream. I loved it, but it ultimately was too sweet for my pallet.
Pros: Unique burger toppings, Pick your vibe (jazz, DJ, or quiet)

Stayed at the Sentinel Hotel specifically because Fortune was inside. Ate the tenders every night like I was in my early twenties coming back from partying starving 😂 So good! The rosemary garlic fries are huge and so tasty. Highly recommend.

100% plant based 100% Delicious - Edit
Great bartender, super friendly & gave great recommendations on their menu as well as other local vegan eateries. I truly couldn't decide between this burger and the Pesto Mac and cheese. Next time I'm in town I'll try that with the brownie and ice cream.
Read moreThe burger was quite large even for my big mouth so I ate 1 onion ring separately. I did not want to smash down that fluffy beautiful bun. The jam added a touch of sweet & I don't think I've ever had bacon jam (real or faux).
Side note on the burger patty, I believe they could fool a meat eater with this one.
Truly delicious and filling.

Great food and cocktails - Edit
Simply amazing and gorgeous cocktails. Three kind of Mac and cheese to choose from, so we tried two. Mozzarella sticks are crunchy and incredibly cheesy. Bakon wrapped dates are indescribably decadent. Bakon jam & Gruyere burger is a sweet and savory messy delight. Friendly staff and nice quiet atmosphere.
