Great food! - Edit
Solid Asian vegan food—I compare everything to Urban Vegan in Chicago and it wasn’t quite at that level, but close. Worth a trip

A retreat from the hustle and bustle - Edit
It was my BF's birthday trip to NY, all over NY from Garden City to the Rockaways and Lido beach.
Read moreAs soon as we walked off the street and into Franchia I knew we had come to the right place.
the food was scrumptious and the service was impeccable. Not a long wine list, but good enough for the middle of the day.

A true sanctuary for vegan dining in NYC! - Edit
Read moreFranchia is one of those rare places where the food, ambiance, and service all align to create a serene and memorable experience. The menu is inventive and deeply satisfying — from the kimchi pancakes and dumplings to the sizzling stone bowl and creamy curry noodles, every dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor. The space itself is peaceful and elegant, a welcome escape from the city’s bustle, with soft lighting and calming music that make you want to linger. Staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Whether you’re vegan or just curious, Franchia is a place that will leave you nourished in every way. Highly recommended!

Absolutely Delicious - Edit
Visiting NY was fun, and having a meal at Franchia made it even better. We had our little pooch with us and they allowed me to bring him in out of the heat so we can eat. Kevin graciously helped us out, and was our waiter. The establishment is warm and inviting and the food is so yummy. We started off with the spring rolls. These rolls were gigantic -they are not skimpy on their portions—and came with a peanut dipping sauce. Next, we ordered an artichoke avocado salad that had the yummiest dressing on it. It also had fresh asparagus, which made it even better. For our entrees, we ordered two items. Spicy Francia noodles and sizzling Bulgogi plate. The noodle plate was my favorite because the sauce was delicious and had a nice little kick. My husband preferred the sizzling Bulgogi plate because he thought that sauce was better. We loved both dishes to say the least. To top it off, for dessert we ordered black sweet rice pudding with coconut ice cream. This was a just okay dessert for me. It was a little too soft, but the coconut ice cream added so much flavor to it. All in all, I’d definitely go back and bring friends. This is all vegan, but I think anyone would love it.

Lovely All Around - Edit
Beautiful Korean ambience, attentive staff, and delicious food. We loved everything about Franchia and went back again (and would go regularly if we lived nearby!). The classic bi bim bop was comparable to what we've had in Korea (including the fern bracken) and the tofu crumble version was great too. The other dishes were all yummy (we tried the bulgogi kimbap, steamed vegetable dumplings, and the mushroom sizzler) and wish we had time to try everything in their large menu. Their chocolate ice cream was a perfect finale on a very hot day.

Some great, some too lightly spiced - Edit
It was pouring rain when we arrived and the staff brought us paper towels to help us dry off. Food was served soon after ordering, and all had good texture and flavor.

Absolutely wonderful food and service. I loved that there was a separate gluten free menu with unique options like a GF scallion pancake and GF black sesame pie. I can't wait to go back!

I’ve come here several times and it is always a staple for me when I come to New York City, lots of delicious Thai vegan options. It’s my go to place and my non-vegan family loves to come here as well.

Yummy curry and tea - Edit
I'm an indecisive person and with so many amazing looking options I appreciated that the staff were so patient with me deciding. I ultimately landed on the "chicken" curry hot stone bibimbap. I forgot to take a picture of it but it came with a flavorful, slightly spicy gochujang sauce on the side. I really enjoyed the curry overall and the "chicken" they used. I used every drop of the sauce as I was mixing it in. I definitely think it's worth spending the extra dollar on the hot stone bowl as the rice on the bottom got so crispy and delicious. I also got a cup of plum tea based on another Happy Cow review and it really was one of the best teas I've ever had. I definitely want to come back and try more things some time!

Fabulous starters - Edit
Another great fully vegan place. We got the dumpling selection and the crispy lions mane mushroom for starters and it was all delicious. For main we got the tofu and aubergine sizzler and the lobster curry noodles. The noodles were nice but nothing special but the tofu was reaaaaallllll yummy.

Reaaaaally nice Korean food, but expensive - Edit
Because of the many options, it was very hard to decide.
Read moreWe had the Philadelphia Roll (not on the pics), Chefs choice Roll, Sweet BBQ pork bun and pancake combo. The kimchi pancakes were labelled spicy, but really are not!
We liked everything, the least the Chefs choice Roll. The sizes were as expected, but for lunch fine. Really nice staff, and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended (but pricy).
Pros: Taste, Quality, Choice
Cons: Expensive as lunch , Sizes a little small

So Tasty! - Edit
this place has been around for decades yet somehow it feels under the radar. It is a MUST VISIT whenever I am in the city. The menu is massive! Stand outs for me are the dumplings, salads, and the curry chicken stone bowl. The Sushi is incredible too. It's a really unique setting, more like a temple than a restaurant. I cannot wait to go back
