Impressive surprise - Edit
Everything from this restaurant was amazing. Yesterday we tried two types of sushi, dumplings and dim sums and we are thinking of having lunch here too today. My girlfriend thought for a second that the substitute of the salmon was actually fish. That’s how good it was. The service was great, the place was cozy but elegant and we had a great time. You should try it, you will not regret it.

Franchia delivers on taste, quality, service, and setting. I never know what to order as the entire menu offers so many delights, but the porridges and pancakes are must-haves!

Amazing vegan food, particularly the sushi! The volcano roll was soo good. Reminiscent of when I used to (pre-vegan) have spicy tuna avocado rolls. Simply Amazing! Would absolutely go back!

Good for a quick bite or a romantic outing - Edit
The two gentleman were so kind and accommodating to us. The ambience was inviting too. Actually everything on the menu looked amazing with unique teas, Korean pancakes, and 'duck baos'. We got the Malaysian fried rice, Date tea and plum tea (which i highly recommend) and the Korean pancakes. I hope you find this little gem in Midtown Manhattan.

Favorite Vegan Sushi - Edit
This is my favorite restaurant for vegan sushi! Their other dishes are very good too, particularly the jjajangmyeon. This is a good place to go when you are looking for a casual meal in a comfortable setting. The décor is very nice as well.

One of my favorite spots in NYC! - Edit
I’ve been coming to NYC for years now but this is at the top of my list. Not only did I have the best cup of tea of my life (seriously) but the food was filling, full of flavor, and hearty.
Read moreMust try: the green plum tea! I split a cup with a friend and am already craving it again. It has flavor like I’ve never tasted before.
Service was great, the atmosphere was cozy, and I got a noodle ish soup with tofu, tofu skin, vegan meat, and coconut broth. 11/10!! #Veganuary

Absolutely Superb - Edit
This is my third time eating at Franchia. Each time the experience has been simply outstanding. The food is prepared to perfection.
Read moreFor New Year’s Eve we started with the black sesame porridge, which is a slightly sweet black soup with a thick consistency. The subtle sesame flavoring was delicious. The porridge was followed by a rainbow roll and steamed kimchi dumplings, both of which were outstanding. The scallion pancakes were loaded with vegetables and was significantly more tasteful than your normal scallion pancakes.
For the main course, we ordered the spicy Franchia noodles and the sizzling Bulgogi, the ladder made with Seitan, vegetables and myriad mushrooms. #Veganuary

Great place! - Edit
I’ve been to Franchia countless times over the years. It is a place that you’re not ashamed to bring your non-vegan friends to - the ambience is awesome and the food is good. I’ve brought several non-vegan friends here and they liked it a lot. The menu has quite a lot of variety - from a gluten-free section to sushi, noodles, bibimbap and other rice dishes, mock meats and veggie dishes, plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, tea and desserts. I eat mostly WFPB and sos-free, and the dishes here are never exceedingly salty or oily like at many other restaurants.

Sadly was underwhelmed by the flavors/taste of the various dishes that we ordered. Really wanted to love it, but did not meet our expectations. Staff was friendly and service was good, but food fell short.

Truly wonderful - Edit
I ate here on my birthday at my friend's recommendation and definitely did not regret it! Although it was a little on the expensive side for my (sad Portuguese min wage) wallet the quality of the food was really worth it. We got a variety of the dishes to share and everything was delicious. We went during lunch hour and it was full of people but since it has multiple floors the atmosphere remained relaxed and the staff were very attentive. If I'm in NYC again I will definitely make a point to go here!
