Great Breakfast and nice staff

We only went there for breakfast and it was amazing, they were really quick and even had some games to play with while waiting. The Cappuccino with oat milk was great as well, they even had free water. All in all great place.

Pros: Nice atmosphere , Good food, good coffee

Very good food in a relaxed thai setting

Had the chickpea scrambled tofu, and smoothy bowl. Lovely staff and food lovingly prepared - was really enjoyable

Delicious food and friendly inclusive atmosphere

Cozy cafe for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff is friendly and the menu is quite unique, offering options lime chickpea omelete over rice, kimchi bowl, shan meatballs. We had the omelet and meatballs and they where very tasty. There is are also fun things like a table with sauces and free ice water, a rack offering vegan and sustainable products like vegan fish sauce and bamboo straws w. cleaners.
The food is relatively pricy, but I think it’s worth it and 100% of the profits go to the Shan foundation. (Ethnic minority group in southeast Asia.
I’d definitely recommend.

Pros: Yummy food, Cozy atmosphere, Unique menu

Cons: Maybe for some budget travelers to pricy

Absolutely fantastic

I got the green tea leaf fried rice and Shan plant balls. Both were 100 baht. Might sound a little bit expensive but money goes to a good cause and the food is worth it.

The cook/waitress was so nice

Pros: Food, Staff , Good cause

Fresh and Delicious Food with a social conscience

The most warm and friendly young woman will greet you! We have been three times now and have enjoyed everything! Tried the omelette over rice, Burmese tea leaf fried rice, Shan white tofu, samosas, potato with lime chilli salt, etc! Will add some photos when we go back again.

Super tasty & great options! Will definitely be returning🤍

Loved the vibe, really friendly staff, and a great selection of choices on the menu offering to Thai and Western choices. I had the bagel with "cheese" sauce and "omelette" made from chickpea flour and veg which was SO delicious. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu! Well located just off walking street.

Must try

One of the better places in Pai for ethnic Thai and Burmese vegan cuisine. I ate here twice in last 2 days and tried many of their dishes. All unique, flavorful and healthy. Friendly service. Food is made to order so at times will take a minute. A bit pricey but well worth it. Highly recommended

Not only vegan but also with a story

Free Bird Cafe is fairly mew one with the first one being established in Chang Mai.
The Cafe offers vegan “Shan” dishes ehich makes this cafe a special one. Shan is the latgest ethnic minority from Myanmar. They share a long border with Thailand and have fled the brutal Burmese military junta and settled in Thailand as stateless people with no basic human rights.
All profits from Free Bird cafe goes to Shan people.

The food is great ♥️

Just amazing

We love this place!

Every single dish we’ve tried (and we’ve tried many) is delicious. They offer vegan Shan dishes that are very unique and yummy. It’s amazing hearty breakfast food. The staff is very friendly, they have games and cozy seating. Plus: it’s on the cheaper side compared to other veggie restaurants in Pai.

Pros: All vegan , Unique , Delicious

Cons: Sometimes a little loud - street noises

AMAZING!

We had a Shan salad and the breakfast bagel. Both were great. The dishes are super rich in flavours. Bagels were quite expensive for 120 bath but the Shan dishes are around 80 bath - that’s ok.

Pros: Detailed description of ingredients on the menu, Rich and deep flavour , Gluten free and vegan, jay options

Chickpea tofu!

The crispy tofu salad is so good I haven't barely had a chance to try anything else. The chickpea based tofu is wonderful. The rainbow Pad Thai is good too.

Best vegan food in Pai

100% vegan food packed with flavour and cooked with love. Highlight for me are the chickpea tofu dishes since they’re a great protein source. This is Shan (Burmese) food which is overall delicious. Great prices in comparison to other vegan options around Pai. Staff are very friendly and the venue is peaceful. Highly recommend for vegans and non vegans!

Pros: Tasty food, Good prices, Friendly staff
