Must be 21+ years old to enter. Little retro diner, bar, and concert venue tucked away in the side streets of the Clarendon area. Began offering an all-veg menu in fall 2012; offers vegan choices for all dishes (BBQ sandwich, cheesteak, chili, fries, etc). The atmosphere is dark and slightly indie-dive-y. Art adorns the walls and you have the option of eating at several retro gaming tables. Live music nights. Opened another location in June 2012 called Spacebar in Falls Church. NOTE: Menu items are vegan by default but dairy cheese is still served on request. Open Mon-Wed 5:00pm-12:00am, Thu-Sat 5:00pm-2:00am, Sun 5:00pm-12:00am.

Dive bar but make it (almost) fully vegan - Edit
Everything is vegan by default, UNLESS you choose to sub for cow's cheese (womp womp). As a MoCo girlie, it sucks to admit that the best burgs are all the way in NoVA, but Galaxy Hut is definitely it right now.
Read moreFaves:
* smokehut - the bac'n and bbq sauce are delicious. If you like bbq this is the one to get.
* reuben - made with tempeh
* totooine - tater tots doused in cheese, mushroom gravy, and cashew cheese curds
A few visits ago I even tried the kale bowl and it was fresh and well condimented (they use a lemon tahini dressing). They also have a nice selection of beers on tap, not all IPAS (e.g., like 5 different sours to choose from).
Ambiance is dive bar, low light, grime, in the best way possible. Love it.

Vegan comfort food - Edit
Not many vegan options in the Arlington area, so I am glad they are here! Vegan comfort food. Love it when eating, but I order so much I feel guilty of the calories afterwards.

It may be worth it to move to Arlington to be closer to this place. I discovered it when here for work about a year ago. Got the vegan reuben and am convinced they excel at other things but I keep going back got the Reuben well. It’s that good.

Vegan comfort food -- good when you're in the mood! - Edit
When you feel like eating tater tot 'nachos' and grilled cheese sandwiches, this is the place to go. Order at the bar and they bring the food to you. I like the quesadilla.

Amazing Arlington dive bar - Edit
Small, hole in the wall dive bar in Arlington. The whole menu is vegan or can be made vegan and everything I've had is delicious. The fried tofu nuggets, burrito, and "frickin chicken" are all winners. The vibe is casual and low-key, unlike many of the other bars in the area. Clientele skews on the older side (for the neghborhood), and not a vegan crowd. Just omni's enjoying the best bar in Arlington.
Read morePros: The whole menu can be made vegan, if not already, Great tasting bar food , Huge beer selection
Cons: Kitchen is small, wait times for food can get long, Hard to find open table on the patio

6 stars at least - Edit
The food is always excellent I have tried more than half of the menu at this point and no disappointments at all and the food is fairly cheap for the amounts you get and the quality. Also plenty of selections of different rotating beers and ciders and you can taste them in a goblet or get a full pint if you know what you like. The place is 100% vegetarian and really they only have a few cheeses made from udder juice but beyond that the food is animal free and really delicious.
Read moreThe atmosphere is so nice, they are usually playing some sort of VHS movie and it is always good (or bad in a good way) and great art and music playing.
It is an absolutely magical place. I keep going back when I can, they are open late and the food is great and you see a lot of regulars including staff hanging out (when off clock) so it is a good sign the place is great.

Favorite food in Arlington - Edit
Galaxy Hut is THE BEST! I heard the owners have gone vegan. Totchos with chili and tempeh bacon are my favorite. They recently started offering a new cheese for it as well, they used to only offer Daiya Cutting Board Edition. I have never tried something on the Galaxy Hut menu that I did not like! (And that is saying a lot since I am picky and have tried most things on their menu)

This is my favorite spot in Arlington - Edit
This is my favorite dive bar to take vegans and non-vegans alike. Rotating beer menu, 90’s vibe dive bar, great vegan bar food. If ordering a vegan “meat” sandwich, just be explicit that it needs to be vegan. They’ve messed up my order once or twice.

Cons: Beer is a little on the pricey side

Dive bar goodness - Edit
This place is the best. Dive bar vibes. Dive bar food. Beer. I’ve brought many non-vegans here that have loved it. Only con is I don’t get why they serve cheese. Just go full vegan already!

Really nice employee - Edit
I'm happy this place exists. It's essentially a place that has the fake meats and cheese on stock and can make a lot of different meals from those. It's vegan junk food or drunchies food for when you want it. I like the Reuben with the tempeh. Not everyday food, but Galaxy Hit has its place. Cool vibes overall.

MUST TRY! - Edit
AMAZING!!
Read moreDecided to get takeaway one day with my mom and this place sounded delicious and it was.
She got the fricken sandwich which was pretty good but I ordered the brussels and bacon and OMG it was soo stinkin good. If you like tempeh its seriously to die for.
I ordered online for pick up and it was simple and the food was made on time.
I believe currently they are only offering takeaway but I would call and double check.
Amazing food a must try if you are visiting or looking to try something new.
Cons: No indoor dining
