Nice place in Williamsburg if you’re looking for vegan pastries and sweets, but it is on the pricier side

Great sandwiches, friendly vibe - Edit
First of all, this place is adorable— the front of the building looks like a cottage covered in flowers, and the inside space is warm and appealing. The person working there was super nice and went out of their way to wrap up my sandwich really well at my request (because I was taking it to the airport). I got the “chicken” parm and it was delicious. The cheesy tomato sauce was especially yummy — and the amount was generous.

Nice cheese and charcuterie selection - Edit
I wasn’t hungry so didn’t get anything in store but I brought home a lot of cheese and “meat” and everything was excellent. If you want to sample you can get a charcuterie board in the store!

Pretty awesome but not for poor people - Edit
Nice little cafe with ambience, tons of options and some unique beverages. The breakfast sandwich I had was delicious, but for what it entails, nobody is trying to pay that much.

Solid food/nice space/kind staff/highly Recommended! - Edit
We stopped in this newer 100% vegan place for a quick snack and were highly impressed. It has a cozy café feel with nice offerings from wine and a charcuterie board to house made meatball subs and lattes. We tried several dishes and all were excellent and the prices were shockingly low for NYC! The best part was meeting the kind staff and owner. Their warmth really elevated the experience. I know the vegan food business can be challenging - please consider supporting this place next time in Brooklyn!

Little vegan deli with all the stuff - Edit
Cute atmosphere, nice staff and delicious food. There really isn’t anything more you need. It’s a casual, order at the counter type of restaurant but the options are plentiful. I had the meatball sandwich as recommendation and was very pleased.

Paris in Williamsburg : A Paradise for Vegans - Edit
Jazz music and sweet flowers drew me in to this adorable vegan cafe-restaurant. The staff is lovely and I ordered the “lox and cream cheese” on a croissant and it was perfection! The next time I returned and wanted something sweet-the almond croissant was on point ! There’s a great wine list and, on the dark and rainy day, I closed my eyes and was transported to Paris in the best of ways. Y’all vegans, come in and support this dear sweet place!

A bit underwhelming - Edit
I did not want to upset the Vegan gods who command that you shall not eat at non-vegan places in big cities like NYC and LA since there are so many fully vegan places there. So even though I wasn’t feeling for deli type food at all, I went here anyway. Meh.
Read morePaid $20 for a tiny sandwich and some fancy-shmancy water in a glass bottle that seemed to be their only option. Left hungry and decided to go elsewhere for a bit more food. Service wasn’t the best - end of the day, maybe everyone was tired lol? The sandwich was good but not mind-blowingly good, and can I repeat it again - tiny - and didn’t even come with any side or anything. Also, maybe it’s just me since I usually eat a lot of fresh veggies and fruit, but I kind of left craving more veggies or fruit or something fresh really. Everything seemed so colorless and processed and overly cooked, I just wanted a pop of color on my plate.
Anyway, should have gone to the Indian place next door for their vegan options. But it’s hard to get over feeling guilty for supporting carnist places lol. I may come back and try another thing or two, who knows. But I wouldn’t go out of my way just to come eat here.

Pretty cute place with amazing vegan food. I had an Italian hero sandwich and it was delicious, from the bread to the filling. Everything looked tasty, will definitely visit again next time I’m in NYC!

Amazing spot! - Edit
I stop by the Garden Carver almost once a week to have this spicy chicken sandwich. Being from the south this is the closest thing I have to true, vegan, comfort food around here. I’ve tried many of their other options; the pizza is to die for, the truffle mac and cheese is really good, creamy, with a little crunch, and the smash burger has these amazing caramelized onions. The sauce they use on the pasta is all handmade according to the chef and it’s an amazing choice as well! I once stopped by for lunch and ate a whole thing of the pimento cheese they have in the glass display, it’s just THAT good! You will not be disappointed trying this place out.

Very Underwhelming - Edit
I had high hopes for GC from the write ups I’ve seen , but it unfortunately was a one and done for me. I ordered the truffle Mac n cheese, which came as one stale giant block that wouldn’t separate and if it weren’t for the truffle sprinkled on top would otherwise lack any flavor. I also ordered the French bread pizza, think one step above a heated Elio’s. Lastly, I tried the Spicy Rigatoni with Meatballs, the pasta was so over cooked and soft it was hard to fork. There is so much competition for vegan spots in NY, these problems shouldn’t be tolerated.
Read moreThe meatballs were great, which came as no surprise since I was told the meatball hero was their best seller.
Verdict: if you go try the meatball hero and forget the rest of the menu, which clearly needs a revamp.

I thought I'd never have an Italian sandwich again. After all, what makes it an Italian is largely the non-vegan ingredients. But Garden Carver had a vegan Italian sandwich that really brought me back. It was worth the price.
