Restaurant est. 2018 serving vegan food and drinks in a casual-intimate setting. On the menu are classic Spanish dishes as well as other rotating dishes. Dessert and beverage choices are aplenty. Relocated from Calle de Alejandro Rodríguez.

Fast service, diverse menu and English speaking staff - Edit
I went there just to get some food take away. The waitress was speaking English fluently and with a great accent (not easy to find that in Spain). The service was very fast. In 10 mins my ceasar salad and the vegan tortilla were ready. I also liked the fact they use compostable package for the salad.

Buen trato, todos los platos muy buenos, variedad... Os recomiendo encargar el cachopo (18€) para compartir (no está en carta). He leído que hay quien se queja de local cutre... yo celebro que sea un sitio sencillo y acogedor.

Your regular ‘round the corner restaurant, only vegan. It’s mostly good. Not incredible, in my experience, but definitely good. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Simple restaurant a bit off the beaten track. If you happen to be in the area it is surely worth to eat here. They have an extensive menu, there are many options to choose from. My intention was to get something on the healthy side but then I saw they served the Beyond Meat burger and I wanted to try it. It was really delicious and filling, the dish comes with lots of fries and vegan mayo. It was actually strange to eat this burger because it has the texture of meat, which is something I don't really miss, however if you like the taste and the texture of meat, this can be a good option. The girl (owner or waiter, not sure) was also friendly and attentive. Good prices. This is a very good option for vegans in Madrid!

El restaurante es pequeño pero la comida está riquísima. Recomendamos: la berenjena frita, la pasteleta, los dados de queso frito y la pizza carbonara. De postre probamos el cheesecake, el brownie y el tiramisú y el mejor este último.

Es el típico bar de barrio antiguo con las baldosas de los 50'! Jamás pensarías el menú tan bueno que tiene! Probamos la bastella y buenisima (muy recomendable) y el escalope también. La camarera fue encantadora y nos explicó los ingredientes principales de cada plato. Volveremos seguro!

When I entered Hakuna Matata I was not expecting much... The interior looks a bit like a bar but knowing that all the food is vegan I sat down ready to eat a burger with chips.
Read moreWell, I can't tell you how surprised I was when I was served a warm salad with such a good tofu that tasted like cheese under a glass "bell" full of somke!!
The salad and tofu were delicately smoked and tasted amazing.
The dessert was also fab which I had with a some jasmine tea.

Read moreAtmosphere is not the usual of new vegan restaurants as it looks like a standard traditional bar. The food is also quite traditional but all 100 % vegan.
Another important point is that they are engaged on supporting animal sanctuaries promoting events to funds raising.

Me gustó de este restaurante que tiene una carta con cosas "sencillas" para variar porque estoy ya harta de burguers, humus, nachos, etc. Me tomé un pincho de tortilla que me supo a gloria. También pedí la ensaladilla rusa pero no me gustó mucho porque lleva aceitunas negras de estas muy fuertes... la próxima vez probaré las croquetas, que tenían muy buena pinta.
