This place is slightly more expensive than other restaurants in the area but it's still worth definitely worth a visit. The food was delicious and the staff helpful.

We grabbed some sushi rolls, gyoza and cauliflower bites for takeaway. The cauliflower and gyoza were absolutely delicious, as we're the cauliflower bites. The sushi was not the best I've had, but it was nothing to sniff at and the flavour combinations were interesting. My favourites were the maki roll and the MX roll. I would come back again if I were in the city for longer.

We had excellent vegan sushi in Lisbon last summer, so I was curious how Helecho would compare. We stopped by for dinner and ordered four rolls, including one of the specials.
Read moreThe server placed our chopsticks on adorable little rabbit netsukes, and we were given the typical mustard/ginger/soy seasonings plus bowls of shredded pickled veggies.
When the food arrived, the rolls were so generous that we thought we might have leftovers. Nope. We scarfed it all down and ordered desserts after that.
I can't really describe the rolls other than to say that these were very different from veg sushi I've had at home, usually rice & avocado because there aren't many vegan options in California. I could taste cornmeal and garbanzo, and, yes, avocado and rice too.
Service was efficient, people super friendly, and at one point the staff all started singing a favorite song along with the sound system which was very cute and added a homey touch.

We went a bit crazy and got 4 rolls, which was too much for two, but we wanted to try the different ones (if only one could get half and half). The Golden Roll was mediocre. Nice breading, but nothing else. The Tropi Roll was nice. I did not expect the combination to work, but it did. Especially the mango. The MX Roll was the star! Absolutely delicious, like a taco in sushi format. Definitely try this one! The Tempura Roll was a bit better than the golden, but just average.
Overall, with two fails, I it's a weak 4.5, saved by the MX Roll.

Large sushi rolls and a lot of creativity. The presentation is great, but the flavors are a little odd. It's good, but not great. I have had a lot of vegan sushi all over the world and this place definitely was not my favorite, but the ice cream is delicious.

I loved this place because the flavors are so creative and tasty! The staff is also super friendly - big shout out to Luís for his spotless service! Just make sure to arrive way ahead of closing time because you might face a queue (it’s a tiny spot), but it was worth the wait!

Got the tropi roll, which was good, but I was more interested in the inari appetizer I got. I’ve never had inari like this, but it was 2 pieces of marinated tofu with the rice in between, and it was really different and good. Service was good. It’s a simple cute small place.

We ordered cauliflower wings and two Makis. The cauliflower was delicious and the sushi was nice as well. Seating is limited and simple, but ok. I wouldn’t make a detour for it, but if you are in the area it’s a great option. The only thing we didn’t like is that they included the ‘voluntary’ service without asking if we wanted to include it. I found that quite rude and felt like they did it because we are foreigners, but we told them and they apologized.

Came here twice. First time I came I ordered the cauliflower appetizer and tropi-roll, both were absolutely amazing. The second time I tried the gyozas, pepita-roll and the golden-roll, paired with teriyaki sauce it was so good! Please give this one a try yourself, you won't regret it.
