Pandemic in the rain: - Edit
Overall, the coffee is delicious. There were no vegan food available, but there was oat milk for my latte. The coffee is strong, and super creamy. I bought a bag of coffee (Ethiopean) and a free BLM poster. This would definitely be more stars if i didn’t come mid-pandemic during a heavy rain storm since there’s an only take out window since it’s considered a bar/night club/whatever.

Great place with friendly staff and delicious coffee. They don’t allow dogs now. - Edit
Super friendly staff and customers. A few vegan items and vegan milks available. Dogs are not longer allowed. I believe it’s to go only now since quarantine.

Frequent visitor, always great service, coffee & food! - Edit
Super nice atmosphere, lovely staff, and always several vegan cake options. They also have several kinds of non dairy milks available, and often vegan sandwiches. Highly recommended! A valuable neighbourhood coffee shop - support local businesses!

vegan sandwiches & sweets - Edit
We stopped for cookies, which were very good. Even got a gluten-free vegan sugar cookie. Noticed they have tofu sandwich & vegan grilled cheese. Cute funky cafe, would recommend checking out, especially if you are craving sweets!

friendly and comfortable! - Edit
I have the same opinions as previous reviewers, but thought I'd chime in since there are none for 2012. The staff is still super friendly, the vegan options are limited but delicious, the cafe is wonderfully funky, and the coffee is great! Also reasonably priced. It was mostly empty on a wednesday evening, but all the better to settle in, jump on the wifi, and get some work done.

Good Coffee - Edit
Good coffee and sandwiches, the vegan menu is a little slim. They sometimes get sweets from the chef at O! Vegasm, and you can't go wrong with anything he makes.

Great coffee shop - Edit
I really enjoy Hey Cafe-it's truly a non-corporate, local place owned by 2 young New Orleanians. It has a punk aesthetic to it and the tiny nook that has records and books available is just cool. They even book shows here. Back to the food-you can have a vegan chicken sandwich or wrap, or hummus, dressed how you like it. I believe they have Tofutti and Earth Balance and vegan frozen waffles. Soy milk is available. Usually, one can find bananas, Cliff Bars, and vegan pastries-they have a local vegan baker that makes them. On a good day, they have the vegan pastries-hopefully it will be more consistent soon. This place has a ways to go as far as a broad menu-but it's great to be able to walk into a New Orleans cafe and be able to order something vegan off the menu. It's quite tasty, too. It's only been "Hey Cafe" for a short time-so I can't wait for their menu to expand. Support Hey Cafe as opposed to Starbucks.
