Delicious sandwich let down by the bread - Edit
I arrived at 4.30 pm on a Saturday wanting something savoury and there was not much left. I got an egg salad sandwich (before going vegan I used to LOVE an egg salad sandwich) and as far as the filling goes it was everything I wanted - it tasted just like the egg salad sandwiches of my youth! Yummy combo of herbs and I think radish to complement the fake egg (tofu? Not sure).
Read moreThe only downside was that the bread had gone dry and hard in places. It would have definitely been 5 stars if the bread had been good. Still, I’d like to try some of their other goods, maybe some of the sweet treats.
Staff were friendly and I loved that everything was vegan.
BTW there is a lovely park - the National Park - 5 mins walk away so it’s pleasant to get takeout and go there to eat.
Pros: Everything is vegan, The sandwich filling was of a high quality
Cons: Dry bread

Perfect for a quick bite - Edit
I managed to visit this lovely bakery twice during my short stay in Athen and I had a selection of pastries and parcels and everything tasted so fresh and delicious. There is a seating area both inside and outside, but if crowded Syntagma square with benches and shade is just around the corner for a take away snack!

Delicious! - Edit
I got the caprese sandwich and the Dubai croissant. Both were phenomenal! Highly recommend any croissant based dish here, they’re fluffy 😚 On the better end of vegan French pastries.

We had the BLT and the filled croissant. Honestly, you must visit if you're in Athens. I'm annoyed I didn't go more than once.
Pros: Mozzarella and tomato croissant, BLT sandwich

Nice BLT - Edit
Very nice interior & friendly staff. We had the BLT, a mushroom pastry & an almond croissant. The BLT was fantastic, really tasty seitan bacon, lots of avocado. The mushroom pastry was good, tasty enough. The almond croissant was quite dry, it did say it was twice baked, so it was big but not soft like the raspberry croissant at Gnou, so for me it was a little disappointing. The coffee was nice.

Exceptionally good croissants, but the service could improve - Edit
The food and beverages were really good. Probably one of the best vegan croissants that I've ever eaten. However, our experience with the service could have been better. They forgot our order and then brought wrong items.

Great bakery - Edit
This was listed as one of the top 10 vegan bakeries in the world in a recent HappyCow Instagram post, and it’s easy to see why. I had a latte, coffee, cookie, and everything was great, and a lot more looked really great. Nice relaxing, setting as well.

All vegan brunch! - Edit
A lovely little spot - lots of options - everything vegan. Holy Llama was recommended to us by a tour guide on a vegan tour in Athens and the pastries all looked fantastic. Everyone in our group (vegan and non vegan) loved the food.

Tasted better than it looked - Edit
I really appreciate Holy Llama's diversity of options, and I wish I had more time to try other dishes. That being said, the foods I did have weren't anything special. I had the chickpea omelette and a pain au chocolat to go. The chickpea omelette was decent, but lacked flavor (although I really enjoyed the cream cheese inside) and the texture of the "egg" was a bit dense. I also asked for no mushrooms, but received it with mushrooms anyway. The pain au chocolat had a good texture and flavor, but still lacked the flakiness of a true croissant. But, I love seeing a vegan cafe like this. The staff were friendly, and it was very wholesome to watch other customers walk in and ask in awe "and this is all vegan?!"😄

Delicious pastries and super nice staff - Edit
This place is amazing you must take a trip if you’re in Athens !! The croissants are so tasty, not too expensive, and the lady in the shop was super nice and talkative!! The previous review mentions them not being as good , and comparatively to Amsterdam, yes, Amsterdam is better for vegan bakery, but compared to the UK this one in Athens will blow your mind !! So yummy
