Amazing Mexican!!! - Edit
Birthday lunch this afternoon @jajajanyc
Read moreWe were greeted by Vladi and sat by the bar. Vladi made several great suggestions and we started with Nachos. They normally come with housemade chorizo which had too much of a kick for my wife so we substituted jackfruit and it didn't disappoint. Topped with fermented black beans, tumeric, queso fundido and sour cream. We added guac which put it over the top. Then Vladi recommended we share the Coconut Queso Quesadillas. Filled with Spinach, basil, serrano, king mushrooms, garlic, pico de gallo, sour cream
Both were soooooo delicious. Then Vladi gave us housemade churros with a dulce de leche dipping sauce. We were lucky to meet Koorash one of the owners and had a very pleasant chat. @jajajanyc is opening up a second, bigger location in the West Village sometime around May and we plan on being there when it opens. Although we didn't wait Vladi did tell us the wait can get quite long Friday night and the weekend but the food is really worth the wait. You won't be sorry!!

Good but expensive - Edit
Food was pretty good but don't take your non-vegan friends who say "BEING VEGAN IS EXPENSIVE" here! I will give it another shot maybe the small burrito, which I could eat 2 if HUNGRY, was is not their best value.

little piece of México - Edit
Well this place is amazing I am not going to let my this review be affected by the attitude I received while resolving a small issue determine my review.
Read moreOver all from someone who is born and raised Southern California and knows what the heart of Mexican food taste like, this small gem here is the heart of Mexico on the east coast. The nachos are a must they were amazing, elote is spot on the, the pupusas are everything.
Management:::
I’d recommend to train your staff to resolve issues in a more quiet manner I heard the entire conversation. in a small place like this the entire room of customers can see and hear. Which can put a damper on this amazing experience
Pros: Great flavor , Atmosphere , Great dishes
Cons: Staff attitude in resolving an issue , Wait time

Unreal Vegan Mexican Food - Edit
I miss this place so much. During the time I was living in NYC I went to this place about three times a month (and I lived and worked WAY uptown, so making the trek there so often is really saying something!) Their nachos are the best I've had and everything I've tried has been so unique and thoughtfully made. Quite possibly my favorite vegan restaurant in Manhattan.

Mexican Food - Vegan Style - Edit
Read the review of JaJaJa in NY Magazine’s “Best Vegan Restaurants” in their A-Z Vegan Guide and had to go check them out. It was more than an hour wait for a table, though worth it. Definitely order the nachos with guacamole as your app, “gravity-defying” in the words of NY Magazine. Portion size of the nachos is ample. We had the burrito and fish tacos as entrees and both were excellent. Give the hot sauces a try on your app and entrees. Lots of drink options-the Mexican horchata is presented beautifully.

Mexican food without cheese was not a draw for me. But we wanted to try it. Glad we did. Exceedingly creative vegan fair.

One of the best in New York - Edit
Jajaja is one of my favorite vegan spots in New York. Every dish I’ve tried has been phenomenal and I can’t wait till I’ve tried the entire menu. Their cocktails are amazing, too. Favorites include: nachos with guacamole, elote, enchiladas mole, the raspberry cheesecake, and the tequila cocktail with pomegranate and jalapeño. The space is small, so there’s a bit of a wait, but it is so worth it. The staff is very friendly, as well.

Yes, Open Sunday - Edit
At the time I’m writing this review, Happy Cow has an error in the listed hours and reports Jajaja as closed on Sundays. Not true, as we just had a terrific Sunday brunch there today. If you’re plant-based, you won’t want to miss this terrific Mexican restaurant when you are in lower Manhattan. It’s literally right at the top of the East Broadway exit on the F line. At our table, we had the burrito, the quesadilla, and the French toast, all of which were terrific. The flan, too. We will be back!

The nacho starter with guacamole alone sold me on this place. The decor is really happy and relaxed too. I also ordered the enchiladas mole and they were amazing! Will definitely return next time I’m in the city.

Excellent vegan mexican - Edit
We had a very enjoyable lunch here. We shared the nachos with added guacamole, the fish tacos, and the mole enchiladas. There were three different house-made sauces of varying heat levels. Everything was flavorful and delicious. Portion sizes are not huge but just right (shared nachos and one entree each was good for lunch). We would have liked to try dessert but we were full!
