Nice but not special - if you don't need GF

I went for a late lunch after seeing that they had plenty of vegan options. I was particularly looking for a savoury option and picked a carrot / pumpkin seed bun and the tomato & oregano spread as well as an iced coffee.

The staff were super friendly, I like the decor and atmosphere, so you may wonder why only three stars. For the price, I was disappointed that it was basically one of the rolls and a spread that I could buy in any supermarket or health food store. No garnish, nothing. I'm not sure that I'll be going back... I don't have a food intolerance and so I am certain that there are other non fully vegan cafés that offer vegan bakery options that are more exciting.

Good selection of gluten free and vegan breads

The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, in English as well as in German. Everything is gluten free and bio, which is great. Not everything is vegan though, as there are a couple of vegetarian items. It would be even better if the whole place was vegan.

We tried quite a few different things, and had mixed feelings, especially as everything was quite expensive.

The vegan cheese bread was delicious! Even our non-vegan German friend agreed. The Chestnut bread rolls were soft and tasty. The Buckwheat loaf had a very good texture.

The cranberry biscuit was crumbly and tasty, it reminded us of childhood! The cakes we tried were nice, though not amazing.

We sat in and had a hot drink too, though the hot chocolate was only ok, not that warm and very sugary at the bottom as not mixed very well.

All in all a nice visit, though a little expensive.

Best taste but expensive

Nearly everything is vegan and everything is gluten-free. I can eat gluten yet I prefer the taste of these baked goods over anything else! The bakery makes the best job at offering gluten-free AND vegan cake since this is a rare combination.

I love the interior and would definitely sit down and drink a coffee. I got cake to-go and loooved it! I admit that it has a "special" taste for people who are used to gluten-flour but I love this taste. I had the cherr, crumble cake, and muffin... the vegan cream was gorgeous and everything was juicy and comforting. But ver, expensive! >4 Euros per piece.

Cinnamon Bun GF & Vegan

That is THE best thing they have, it's heavenly! We tried 3 other pastries and wouldn't buy them again. The Brownie didn't taste like chocolate, the mamorcake tasted like semolina flour, both tasted very healthy and needed some sugar. Hey, it's cake! The poppy tarte was okay, a little too crumbly but the sugar glaze saved it As it's hard to find GF treats, I would totally go there again, have 2 cinnamon buns, nomnom

Pros: Café is super cute, has 3 vegan milks, Several vegan options, Completely GF

Cons: Quite pricey, Sweets don't taste sweet

too expensive for the quality

Our hot cocoa wasn't hot at all and the was a little dry and not really worth 3,40€. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming though. The waitress told us everything is vegan.

Pros: atmosphere, bread, all vegan

Cons: expensive, cold beverages

Disappointing

I really want to like this place - I really do. I live near it and it's a small local business so I've given it way more chances than I usually would. However, every time I have gone there, or eaten their produce through Denns Biomarkt, it's just dry, stale, and tasteless. That covers the bread, cookies, and cakes. In fact, the only time it has tasted anywhere near nice enough to justify the price is when it's been freshly baked. I tried a sample of the franzi streuselkuchen the other day and it was nice because it was literally being cut up right there. But the last time I actually bought a slice I couldn't eat the base.

I know this is a problem with gf in general, but there are places that do it really well and at a fraction of the price. I wouldn't be so harsh, but the staff are also just not at all friendly. I've been there maybe 5 times (because I have a vegan gf friend who often comes to town) and every time they have been unfriendly, and rushing us, even though there is nobody in the place and we're just trying to decide what to get.

I've been generous with the star rating just because reading other people's reviews, maybe I've just been unlucky. And I think they have a good selection, a nice shop, and they have bathroom facilities. They cater to a group of people that often don't get to eat exciting things and I get that, I just wish the quality was better.

Pros: Selection, Shop

Cons: Price, Service, Stale most of the time

Nice bakery, lots of GF

A good selection of things even later on in the day - I had a cake with stresuel top and a marble cake, the marble cake was particularly nice. Great little place and there is a menu listing all the ingredients in both German and English, so really good for allergies.

Pros: Allergen friendly, Good selection of things

Delicious pastries !

The cookie is incredibly awesome! Just ask for what's vegan, some pastries are with honey. Hot drinks can be prepared with soy or rice milk. If you want to eat there, I suggest you to call to book a table : small area with seats and quite busy place.

Pros: the cookies , homemade cooking, fresh products

Cons: seating area really too small

Best gluten-free bread in town!

I just love this bakery. The girls working here are absolutely delightful, the bread is out of this world. They have a couple of vegan stuff you can eat, like breakfast and pastries too. but THE BREAD!! It's soft, stretchy, not starchy, you can freeze it, toast it or keep it for a couple of days and the texture will remain incredible!

Pros: best gluten free bread in Berlin, loads of different options, breakfast made vegan friendly

Everything is vegan except an item or two with honey. Huge selection of breads, rolls, baguettes, cupcakes, cookies, crumb-cakes, etc.

Staff speak English and can explain ingredients. Everything in the bakery is gluten-free & organic!!!

Great location by U train (Eberswalder) and trams. You can eat there or takeout.

Pros: Organic/bio, gluten-free, big variety

Great bread/roles and cakes

Very nice mostly vegan cafe with very fresh and delicious baked goods. The "Adele" sweet rolls are especially good.
