Was it a bad day? - Edit
Unfortunately, and I really hate to do this, but I really do not understand the other reviews.
Read moreSuper cramped and uncomfortable place for a lunch, I had to maneuver through the long queue with my plates and get my own water out of a huge jar from the fridge using the lunch table. Besides the tables in the other room the place is basically a crowded corridor with a crowded table at its end.
I got the lunch menu rather late but it was still offered at 10 euros and consisted of potatoes, two salads and potato soup. The salads were fine, but no bread to eat them with (honestly it was enough carbs already... Protein was nowhere to be found).
I added a cinnamon bun since it looked nice and because of all the praises about it, but it was quite simply a bread with some sugar on top of it. No filling, barely any cinnamon. 4.5 euros. What was that? Huge disappointment 😕
One star for being vegan which I always appreciate and for the nice garden outside.

Very crowded, okayish food - Edit
Our expectations were maybe a bit too high because of all the 5-star ratings. We took the lunch buffet, which costs 13€ each. It offered a stew, small potatoes, simple green salad, bread and three dips. Four our liking it misses salt and flavor. The bread was very good.

Cons: Flavorless food, Staff couldn’t recommend anything , Buffet offered just a few things

we had some traditional karelian pastries. they were either filled with potato’s or barley. also they had the typical „egg wash“ on top or kaviar. The location is really nice to sit outside!

cute place, food was ok - Edit
the location is amazing and the cafe very cute with plenty of space in the garden to sit. the food i had was only so-so, it was alright, nothing too special, but ok. I'm not sure if its the vegan version or the dish itself but they lacked flavor for me. the baked goods were good! it was a bit cramped in there because it was rush hour and they mainly have coffee or bottled drinks on offer, nothing else. in the end it's a cute option but I'm not sure i would go here that often..

Incredible food! - Edit
We had the lunch deal, which was a self-serve option of soup, bread, salads, and potatoes. Everything we tried was amazing! So fresh and full of flavour. The staff were also incredibly friendly and were kind enough to explain the menu to us in English. Lovely to sit indoors or outdoors, too - just overall a great cafe!

Best finish cinnamon bun!! - Edit
Came to Helsinki for the weekend and was determined too search for a vegan cinnamon bun along with all my other adventures. All the norm restaurants served non vegan ones and the vegan restaurants didn’t have any pastry, finally found this vegan cafe and everything about it was perfect! Would 100% recommend!

Worth a visit - Edit
Always exciting to find an all-vegan place, though they didn’t have any vegan reindeer today. The girl behind the counter nicely explained what everything was, and I got a cabbage pie slice and a little traditional something topped with fake egg mush. Liked both but didn’t love either but I’m still glad I tried them! There were also many cake options there that looked good.

Intimate atmosphere with traditional dishes - Edit
This was one of my absolute highlights during my time in Helsinki - my favorite eating spot while I was there. It's kind of hidden away on top of a hill a small little building.
Read moreI had all the three savory Karelian pies available, with a side of salad, which were all absolutely delicious. One I think had tofu made to resemble tuna or so; another with "caviar" made from seaweed. Also had a lovely chai latte.
I got a dessert too... had a hard time picking from all the pastries, but ultimately settled on an orange-chocolate "cheese"cake.
The atmosphere is another reason to visit. It's small, very intimate, feels a bit like being a guest in a home. I observed feminist and LGBTQ-friendly decor too.
I wish I could've been in Helsinki longer to try other things here, as I think they have daily specials and pastries rotate. Will definitely revisit next time I see Helsinki.
Pros: Intimate, homey atmosphere, Very friendly and helpful staff, Traditional Finnish/Karelian food with vegan spin!
Cons: Menu in Finnish, but they'll help translate! , I think some food items and menu rotate

Cute cafeteria next to Hakasalmen huvila-museum. Had a glass of sparkling rhubabrb wine and two carelian pies with toppings. Couldn’t resist taking a piece of licorice cake for dessert as well. Traditional finnish delicacies with a twist!

Absolutely Superb - Edit
This is a real find for vegans. Thoughtful food made with heart. Many of the recipes are from the chefs grandma. They bring together traditional Finnish food with plant-based wisdom. The little kerali pies are superb, main courses are hearty and flavourful. I took away a blueberry and cream bun for later, this too was utterly delicious. If you are visiting Helsinki seek this place out ,. you will not be disappointed

Cozy lunch spot - Edit
Such a cute little cafe with a friendly team running it. We enjoyed our lunch, it was fresh and filling. There's a changing daily dish of the day and today there was also baked potatoes with salad and toppings. The buns we tried were nice as well, especially the one with cinnamon.

Pretty good - Edit
We went there during our day trip to Helsinki and wanted to try vegan Finnish food. Unfortunately most of the Karelian pie was already sold out and they were smaller than expected. So we ordered one Karelian pie that was left (which tasted like a traditional dish of my home region Brandenburg, nice), cabbage pasty (also good) and cinnamon rolls for our trip back to Estonia. Can recommend it but expect a long queue on weekends.
