phenomenal - Edit
going to vegan places like these is basically the entire reason I travel- traditional food turned cruelty free. :-)
Read moreI didn’t have a ton of time in Helsinki (short layover), but I’m really really happy I stopped here. sweet owner/chef, generous with her time & recommendations. savory pie and sweet pastry items you def will not see outside of Finland. a
I got the traditional pie with the “egg” topping, “caviar” pie and a blueberry(!!!) danish.

Beautiful location, great selection - Edit
Right between parliament, city museum, concert hall, Finlandia building and the busy Mannerheimintie is this little gem. You can barely hear the street and seating outside (if weather permits) is really dreamy. The selection of cakes, pastries and drinks is great, delicious and reasonably priced. Absolute must of you're in Helsinki!

Nice vegan* cafe right across from national museum - Edit
Great sweet and savory pastries and desserts, various coffee drinks as well as drip coffee, and a small lunch menu with a few nice options. I ordered their new baked potato served with a green salad, tofu skagen and creamy mushroom and smoky "salmon" carrot salads. The potato and salads were well made and very tasty, especially the "salmon" which i highly recommend. My partner had a salad and 3 Karelian pies with various toppings, and enjoyed their meal as well. I had a slice of gluten free chocolate cake and my partner had a cinnamon bun, which were both delicious. They also have a selection of beverages including niche sodas and alcoholic beverages. Only downside was that they happened to be out of soup, and the space was a bit small on a busy Saturday. Cozy cafe we will definitely be returning to.

Really delicous food - Edit
We have been here twice and I can only recommend it. Besides the food in the photo, we also had the soup of the day and oven potatoes. The savoury and sweet pastries are very tasty. This is a must when you are in Helsinki.

Always come here for the Carelian Pies💗 - Edit
Carelian pies are among my finnish favourites for 20+ years now, they are available in vegan versions in the supermarkets, but not so often in Restaurants, this is one of the few places I know to serve them. They got three different ones with different toppings, all a good match and all very tasty! Managed to have a vegan pulla afterwards as well, this time.

Sweet ambience, good food - Edit
Ordered three Karelian pies - the egg butter was the best. The pickled cucumber was weird cuz it had sugar syrup, but the caviar topped pie was good. The mashed potato filling was sumptuous. The cinnamon bun wasn’t bad either

Pretty place although in summer 23 there is a huge construction next to it we had the chocolate cheesecake and cinnamon roll. Both Ok choices. There seemed to be good selection of salty foods also.

amazing vegan karelian pies! - Edit
it was nice to eat real, homemade karelian pies! all the toppings were good, but i would recommend the ”munavoi” one above all! it’s not the prettiest one but it’s the classic 👍

Small portions, tastes ok, run out of food 1h before closing - Edit
Tiny portions for what you pay. Much dough, little filling. And we had only two options together choose from (one pieces of the first one, three of the second, so the guys in the line after us failed to eat anything), although it was almost an hour before closing. Tasted ok, though.

Delicious traditional food made vegan - Edit
We went for breakfast and sampled all three kinds of Karelian pies (caviart, eggless butter, and pickles) as well as a round pastry with mushrooms and sour cream. Everything was delicious and the owners were friendly. Cute place in a great location near many museums and a park, nice outdoor seating area.

Cozy and lovely - Edit
My grandmother would say that the cafe was lovely and cozy. And I’m pretty much my grandmother at this point. A lovely little, all vegan cafe in the museum area. It has a limited lunch menu, but it was just what I need. I had the soup (leak and zucchini) and side salad with wonderful, fresh bread. I then had a sea salt brownie, which was wonderful.

Exceeded my already high expectations - Edit
Classic finnish food, 100% vegan. This cafe has been at the top of my list of must visit places. The bakery itself is attached to a museum, run by a mother and two daughters. There is so much history in the building itself as well as the food that is shared. We shared some karalien pies and pastries and enjoyed a roast vegetable soup with the softest bread I have ever had. Wow just spectacular. Also an extra shout out for the pulla (cinnamon scroll) which was still hot from the oven.

Everything was so amazing, the very friendly staff, the place with a sunny terrace and a lovely room inside, and of course the food omg. These potatoe toasts are incredibly good, the one with the fake eggs is mind blowing, the salad was delicious, and so was the brioche !

Maybe the nicest cafe in Helsinki city centre - Edit
A beautiful all-vegan family-run cafe set in the bakery building of a historic villa. Next time will try the Carelian pies as I've heard they are a must. This time I tried a spinach and vegan cheese pastry with an oat latte - a tasty combo but the vegan cheese could have had a yummier, more creamy taste.

Wow, mother & 2 daughters run this incredible vegan 🌱 place. - Edit
In honour of their grandmother and her Karelian recipes they set this place up in March 2022.
Read moreIn 1944 more than 420,000 Karelians had to leave their homes as their home land was annexed by Russia.
Their grandmother settled in Lapland and never forgot her homeland that had been taken away from her & her people.
Talking to the family about the history of the food is unbelievable and makes the food taste better with meaning (see pictures)
We tried all the incredible pies and some of the desserts. The cottage itself has always been a bakery and is set in the grounds of the big house to which it originally belonged. This big house is now a museum.
The future is vegan 🌱
