instant community served with each meal! - Edit
Kalikalos Holistic Summer School in Kissos village in the Pelion region of mainland Greece offers wholesome food, friendship and community living experiences all rolled into one.
Read morePeople visiting Kalikalos can stay as holiday guests, workshop participants or work exchange volunteers. Menus are always vegetarian, using mainly organic local produce as far as possible, supplemented by fruit and veg from the passing small traders; bread is baked daily by the village baker and, at the height of the season, Kalikalos's own organic garden provides some more tasty offerings.
When you eat at Kalikalos, you are not a stranger for long. Everyone visiting Kalikalos is there to experience community life on many different levels and everyone becomes family very quickly. Sharing food preparation and clean up as well as eating together round large tables is a brilliant way to break down barriers and find common interests.
Especially for people travelling on their own but looking for some wholesome conversation over meal times, Kalikalos is the place to experience true community from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week from May to September.
