Fantastic food and service! - Edit
What an unexpected treat! We figured we’d head back into Jaipur for dinner after our visit to Amber Fort but this place is a gem!
Read moreI had the dal bhat thali, which the owner kindly switched out a dessert option containing ghee to vegan cake for me. My partner had the winter special, and we both had juices.
So good to have curries without too much oil.
Really enjoyed chatting to the owner as well, who is very knowledgable about food and happy to help you pick from the menu.
You’ll love it!
Pros: Delicious, non-oily food, Friendly staff, Lovely location

Best restaurant for vegans - Edit
This is the best restaurant for vegans we have come across in India. When we said we were vegan the owner immediately came over and helped us with the menu. She speaks fluent English and is a nutritionist so fully understands what being vegan is. For anything that wasn’t vegan on the menu she offered us amended versions. I had the North Indian thali (made vegan by swapping a couple of the dishes). I also had an almond milk drink as a replacement for a lassi. All the food and the drink was incredible.

Best vegan food in Jaipur! - Edit
Kokum bistro is a safe haven from the busy streets in Jaipur BUT the doesn’t mean you have to miss out on traditional, delicious Indian food! They have a variety of foods, both south and North Indian, and also more western food in case preferred, we had the vegan Thali with a special spinach and tofu side instead of paneer. The food was delicious, healthy and the most important thing to us was the owner (who is a nutritionist) came to talk through all options and was super understanding of my nut allergy (I had some issues with this in India) / they even offered us a mango lassi alternative and provided multiple vegan milk options - I recommend the plant based (millet) milk - my partner had almond and they put the nuts to the side.

Many different Dosas and lots of vegan options - Edit
Nice place with views at the Amber Fort in Jaipur. Their speciality is different styles of Dosas and there are many vegan (and also gluten free) options.

Great Vegan Options and Location - Edit
We are walking distance from our hotel and is across from the Amber Palace. The owner is very nice and understood no dairy. I liked the atmosphere of this place and would go again. We order channa and rajma.

Disappointing reduced options - Edit
We were told that the chef wasn’t in and that they could only cook a reduced number of dishes. We ended up with a Chole Bhature which we could have got anywhere for a fraction of the price. The place was clean and air conditioned but lacked any atmosphere

Good food, great location - Edit
Perfect place to eat before or after visiting Amer Fort. Good options and also soy milk. We really enjoyed the food, we tried a pesto vegetable cheese sandwich and an Indian breakfast dish with chickpeas which is highly recommended!

Amazing Thali and dosa - Edit
My partner and I went there for lunch after visiting the Amber palace. We had delicious vegan Rajasthani Thali and masala dosa. The owners were so kind and knew all about veganism. The atmosphere is great as well as the view. Must visit if you're in the area!

Owner served us delicious vegan food - Edit
Felt good vibes as soon as we walked into this lovely looking restaurant. We were kindly greeted and shown to our table followed by the owner who approached myself partner and baby daughter. She was nothing but friendly and kind and seemed she took a lot of care and passion in her establishment which I love to see and for her to come out is something I very much appreciated. We explained we were “vegan” and she was very much aware what veganism was. She went through the menu with us and was able to alter a few things to serve us the best and most delicious vegan food she could get us!! We got a vegan thali, vegan toasted sandwich and a vegan friendly pasta dish for our 11 month old baby daughter. Timing was perfect!!! And food was delicious and every single bite was satisfying. Erela nearly ate the whole bowl pasta to herself which she very much enjoyed also! The restaurant is in a prime location just near the Amber fort (short walk) just back on the main road from the walk to the fort! Overall we had an amazing experience and definitely will be back if where ever back in Jaipur! We recommend everyone who passes by the fort to come and have a meal at this fine establishment!!

Vegan friendly good food - Edit
This all vegetarian cafe is located just outside the Amber Palace/Amer Fort. The owners and staff understand vegan food and the menu has these options marked. We had the North Indian thali and Rajasthani Thali (both not vegan). The items in the thali were healthier and less spicy compared to their original counterparts. Their menu has both india and international options and a lot of juices and shakes. The cafe has a good ambience and is very clean. The mint infused water was highly refreshing after walking through the forts. I highly recommend this place during your visit to Amer.

Great vegan food!! - Edit
After touring Amber Palace my group and I decided to eat at this restaurant directly across from it and it was so good! It was all vegetarian and there were so many vegan options. All the vegan and gf options on the menu had a V or gf next to it so it was perfectly clear what was vegan and what was vegetarian. Definitely recommend this place. The prices were great and food was amazing.

Just right - Edit
Lovely decorated bistro, chilled atmosphere. Vegan items clearly marked and staff seem to understand to a point. Just check they don't use butter or cheese in your meal when ordering. We ordered idly and beans on toast. Both perfect for a lunch, and tasty. We had lovely filtered coffee with heated up soy milk. The bistro is clean and the toilet is probably the cleanest in India!

Great vegan and gluten free options at a reasonable price - Edit
The owners of this bistro are so careful and contentious about a varied diet! They ask exactly what you can eat and have soya milk for really good cold coffees. A rarity in India, where most places don't seem to have that many vegan or gluten free options clearly marked.
Read moreKokum has a huge range, but especially delicious were the oats idly, pesto dosa and quinoa uttapam. A healthy inclusive menu meant that we went twice in our two day trip to Jaipur!
It is also a great place to eat and hang out after a morning or afternoon exploring Amer Fort. Right at the based of the elephant gate, its exposed brick and tree trunk tables provide the perfect place to observe the fort while munching away on a feast! Super healthy, delicious and with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free catered for!
It is a little far from the city centre, but its location is perfect for the Fort, especially if you want to walk around a little. Its a 15/20 min walk up the Fort, and less so down.
Pros: Staff friendliness, Delicious vegan food, Great value
Cons: Far from the city centre

Right across from the Palace, delicious, reasonably priced (between 150 and 300 INR for most entrees, about 80-120 INR for a drink) and vegan items are clearly marked, many things are cooked without butter. Really clean bathrooms, beautiful view!
