I really hate to give negative reviews so I’ll start with the positives.
Read moreThe owners are lovely and kind and it seems like they make most things in house, including their noodles and dumplings. The food is also incredibly cheap. We ordered enough food to fill 2 people for less than £7, so if you’re travelling on a budget, this place is definitely somewhere you need to go to!
Unfortunately, the food was just all a bit bland. We’ve been incredibly lucky to go to many different Asian countries and try local dishes in small local restaurants and this food was just way below par for us. The noodle soup broth didn’t really taste of anything and each dumpling in the assortment of dumplings flavours tasted basically the same.
Happy Cow is a brilliant app and travelling as a vegan would be near impossible without it but one of the issues with Happy Cow is a place like this becomes one of the top rated restaurants in the country when it’s just not. Everything we had here, we had 100x better at different restaurants in Taipei.
So, in summary, if you’re travelling on a really tight budget then you’ll have a really good feed here for a really low price. But if you can afford to spend more on your food, I would recommend giving this place a miss.

Friendly, affordable, easy, yummy! - Edit
Definitely one of the best vegan restaurants in Taipei. It's non-pretentious, the owner speaks English and is eager to help you order. There is an English menu as well.

Authentic local place. The noodles were handmade in the shop and it tasted like jt! They were so tasty. The dumplings were also delicious. The owner had great English and was very helpful.

The restaurant looked dark from the outside but they were open. The staff was very polite and spoke English. We had dumplings and noodles and soup. They were delicious and the prices were very nice. Some locals were also there eating which is also a good sign! The restaurant is very simple but they have air conditioning

Paradise for vegans! super authentic Taiwanese food! the owner was super friendly and aware of veganism. She spoke good English and helped me to pick the food. She explained the dumplings flavours and was super engaged in my visit.

Fresh and delicious soul food - Edit
The nice lady explained the menu to me in English. I had the dry noodles with all 3 sauces (spicy, sesame and soybean sauce), and one of each dumplings (6 in total). I loved both and would love to come back for the dumpling soup. If you are in the area and like dumplings, I would highly recommend checking it out. Lovely people and amazing, cheap food!

When we came in you could see them making the dumpling dough in the back of the store. The lady spoke excellent English and explained the menu to us. We went for 7 dumplings, one of each flavour. They were all unique and tasted wonderful. I couldn’t pick a favourite! Also got their homemade noodles and seriously the best noodles I’ve ever eaten. They were just perfect. Definitely one of the best meals I had in Taipei!

Delicious dumplings - Edit
Great local place with delicious fresh food at a very reasonable price. We had the tastiest veg dumpling fillings of our trip there, took a mixed plate to try them all. Fennel/dill (seasonal) and cabbage were our favourites. No processed ingredients, all natural colourings too. The owner speaks perfect English and was super friendly, advising us and explaining everything. We will be back!

This was my favorite place I ate in Taipei. Wish it was closer to where I was staying, as I would have eaten here more. Tried all 7 dumpling flavors, not sure which was which but the red one was my favorite. Owner was helpful and spoke English really well. If I went back, I would get a soup because several people were eating them and they looked heavenly #Veganuary

I ate there one October night, ordered sesame noodles and some freshly-made dumplings, it was delicious and the boss was so kind and helpful! She spoke English, if that's something you need.

The owner who speaks English is very helpful (and speaks very quickly, be ready!). Dumplings were super fresh and of course needed to be paired with a sauce.
Read moreAlso had the handmade spicy noodles; beware that medium/high spicy here is closer to a Thai scale than a Taiwanese scale, based on other restaurants I've been to around here. Noodles were excellent.

I was unsure about this place because everything was in Chinese, which I don't understand, but the staff were super friendly and welcoming. She gave an English menu and explained it all to me. The noodles and dumplings I had were super tasty, you also have different sauces to try.

Read moreWhat I did try left me dreaming for more. I ordered the 10 piece spicy dumplings from the adorably sweet owner/chef, and she was a true gem. Gem of gems. She gave me a combo of the dumplings and taught me which sauce to use to balance out the spiciness.
Can’t wait to return. It’ll never be soon enough!

On my first day in Taipei, I decided to try this place out, and it was a great choice! I had a vegetable noodle soup and tried one of each of the dumplings they offered. The lady, who I believe is also the owner, spoke English, so it was easy to communicate and she explained very well what they offered and provided recommendations. They also offered side dishes which seemed to have some tofu and mushroom that I tried, and it went well with my soup. I particularly liked how the coloring of the dumplings were from natural vegetables.

If the freshly handmade noodles and dumplings doesn't impress you, consider how they juice vegetables and integrate that into the dough. Giving the dumplings a beautiful color and unique flavor. These dumplings are unlike anything I've ever had, vegan and non vegan. The colors are enticing and pleasing to the eye and more importantly the palette! 🥟

Not to mention the service! Such sweet people, they really make you feel like youre having a home made meal. This was 100% my favorite restaurant in Taiwan and I will be visiting again as much as I can.

Tasty noodles and dumplings, could do with some more seasoning - Edit
I got a plate of noodles with three different sauces (miso, spicy, sesame). The noodles were delicious, nice and wide and a good thickness. The sauces didn't really pack enough of a punch for me though. I could taste the chilli but the others were too mild for my liking.
Read moreMy partner got the braised meat noodles. She enjoyed the noodles a lot too. The meat pieces were tasty but there wasn't much sauce and it felt a bit under seasoned.
We also got a plate of 10 cabbage dumplings to share. These were the fresh flavour they had made that day, the others were from frozen and we went for the fresh ones. They were really tasty, the dumpling wrappers were the perfect thickness. They were generously filled and there was lots of flavour in them.
We got a side plate too. You can pick these up and add them to your meal for 35NT$ (less than a pound). This was some nicely seasoned tofu slices that we both really enjoyed.

The owners / chefs of this restaurant are very kind and attentive to both customers and the food they make. Noodles for noodles plates and soups are made by hand every day. Dumplings are delicious and flavorful along with the sauces that come with them.

Fresh! A real recommendation - Edit
I originally wanted to go for 10 nice colourful dumplings (80TWD). But when the waitress (who btw was able to speak English and introduced the menu to me, which was a nice touch) said that they make their noodles in-house my interest was raised. Thus I took 3 dumplings and noodles in a hot sauce with a bean sauce. I loved everything! The noodles were chewy in a good way and the dumplings had a lot of taste. They also make their chili-paste in-house. She argued that it was extremely hot (I think it was tasty but very manageable). If you are able, make sure to visit this place. I paid around 100 TWD for the noodles and 3 dumplings.

Delicious dumplings and noodles - Edit
I saw the “vegetarian food” sign and couldn’t resist to take a closer look. The owner immediately greeted me friendly, gave me an English menu and explained basically every dish to me. The dumplings/ noodles are made fresh daily with some seasonal fillings.
