Nice spot for a bite - Edit
Came here for brunch twice as we stayed nearby- the coffee is good as is the breakfast. Pastries were also great and they have a wide selection to choose from. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Top notch vegan pastries, lively vibe - Edit
Well I already love Clementine bakery, and the pastries here are pretty much the same, so I have to show love to this location as well. I have visited once (I don't live in NY) and found the space very bright and welcoming, not too loud, but lively, with several groups chatting. I got my favorite- almond croissant, and it was just the right texture, not too soft, and not too sweet. I also got a matcha beverage and had no complaints. There was a pretty broad selection of different pastries available, too, maybe a dozen? I didn't check out their savory items or other menu items. Prices are on the higher end, but typical for NYC, $7 for a filled croissant. I would absolutely return.

Delicious - Edit
We arrived just before 1, and lots of bakery items were sold out which was disappointing! We had to wait a little while for a seat too as it was quite busy, lots of people with laptops doing work….

Where to start. The selection was overwhelming, the place was cozy and they even had reduced cinnamon bun from the day before that were as good as the fresh ones.

Large selection and yummy! - Edit
Everything looks so good. We tried almond croissant, jalapeño and potato danish, chocolate croissant and raspberry matcha cheesecake. Loved them all but particularly the first two. Croissant is buttery and flaky!

Good croissants - Edit
Def a great spot - I’d rate it a 4.5 but there’s no half ratings here.
Read moreI had the croissant bacon egg and cheese sandwich, though they actually wound up serving me a sausage one using some generic field roast links. I don’t mind it necessarily, though.
Coffee was adequate but nothing special.

Reminds me of Paris - Edit
Lovely assortment of classic French pastries and other sweet and savory dishes. I usually reserve my sweet tooth for chocolate, but the almond croissant is a must eat. The donut was a little too oily for my taste in the middle.

Incredible patisserie - Edit
This patisserie was incredible. I met some friends from Singapore here and had the best time. They have so many vegan baked goods from both sweet to savory, and they are so incredibly unique. They have incredible coffee and lattes as well. The price is also very fair, and considering the quality, it's cheap. They're open early as well and even open Sunday morning. They have a few non baked good items like salads and sandwiches.

Would die for that almond croissant - Edit
I AM STILL DREAMING ABOUT THIS CROISSANT 🥐
Read more@lepetitmonstrebk it's been 3 weeks and I still wish that I'd woken up this weekend with your almond croissant to make life even more lovelier 🤤
The flakiness, the airy-ness, the tastiness, oh MAN if anyone's ever nailed an almond croissant it's these guys 👌🏼
I actually have a hard time having almond croissants - my first one was filled with the most delicious almond filling that it quickly became my new favourite pastry 💯 but since then, every other one has been disappointingly dry, bland, and lacking flavour 😮💨
But ohhhhh no no no, not this one 👏🏼
The filling was beyond belief - rich, creamy, flavourful (and there was loads of it!!) - perfectly balanced with the perfect puff of the pastry 🥐

Ngl, it's enough to make me catch a 6 hour flight to NYC. That and then being able to try everything else on the menu ✈️
(Yes you can tell I'm still fully regretting only getting a croissant)
**** they also have pistachio milk for the coffees!!! Coffee was nothing mind-blowing, but still a lovely cup!
The staff were also super friendly, and the vibe so nice and fresh - love the plants!
Pros: Almond Croissant, Lovely staff, Plants plants plants and lovely vibe

Amazing - Edit
This place was amazing. after a disappointing birthday treat venture for my partner's birthday, we came to "le petit monstre". I was already dreading another tasteless treat with a disposable paper cup for a coffee, but le petit monstre warmed my heart, my soul and just made me smile, made me enjoy eating and keep on ordering more and more and more.
Read moreThe croissants were among the best vegan croissants we had (and we live quite close to france, and visit paris). The manage to have their croissants crispy without relying on sugar (some patisserie cut corners to make their croissant crispy by using sugar syrup), and this is exceptional.
The ceramics and cups were beautiful and it was wonderful to finally use real cutlery, plates and cup when eating in. I appreciate places that still own dishwashing machines, and also bother choosing ceramics which are artsy and make me smile.
There was a lot of space, light, plants in the cafe, it was great ambience which can make you feel lifted up.
The staff were so cute and friendly, like they seemed to actually enjoy their job. (tips to feed the gays). My european partner did not tip enough on our first order, so we made sure to leave enough on the last one.
I was starving when coming into le petit monstre and my partner and I ordered 4 pastries, and then 2 or 4 more, and then 6 more pastries for take-away. I loved that the baked goods were good enough, they had enough variety that you can still have more if you really wanted a treat.
Definitely when I come back to New York I will pass by le petit monstre before going anywhere else. it was that good!
We didn't order any of the main meals, just baked goods.
Pros: Possibly the best vegan croissants in the world, Other baked goods are excellent, Great ambience, staff, cutlery, ceramics, space...
Cons: I dislike that it's in brooklyn as I live far away, not open one day when we wanted to go in

Best vegan croissants - Edit
I’ve eaten vegan croissants at French bakeries/patisseries in Paris, Lyon, Montreal, Rome, Lisbon, Barcelona, and several US cities. The croissants at Le Petit Monstre (and Clementine Bakery, by the same owners) are the best I’ve had anywhere. The pistachio croissant in particular is absolutely insane. Eating it made me feel like I was in a fever dream where I had decided to intentionally cheat on veganism after 20 years. I honestly thought it was a traditional non-vegan recipe.
Read moreThe vibe here is super cute and the staff is nice too. My partner tried the breakfast tacos and liked them. They have lots of cool milks for coffee, including hazelnut, pistachio, sesame, and (I think) macadamia. I noticed the list only after I ordered so I went with regular old oat milk, but I wasn’t disappointed. The coffee was very good.

Tasty Vegan Treats in a Chill Spot - Edit
The pastries, monkey bread, and sweets were pretty good, but they didn't quite hit the spot for me. Still, the vibe at the bakery was super chill, and it's definitely one of the best places in Brooklyn to grab some quick vegan breakfast goodies.

5 out of 5, a new favorite - Edit
I’m not sure why Happy Cow says this place is not vegan but it’s on their storefront that they’re a vegan patisserie. We got a banana custard pastry, which D said was excellent, and a savory buffalo chick’n turnover. I thought buffalo sauce was an unusual choice for even a pastry but damn it’s a good one. I highly recommend. We picked up a pistachio croissant on our way out for a friend.

Mind-blowing French pastries - Edit
It is almost unfortunate that I now know this place exists because every time I come to NYC, I have to visit. Le Petit Monstre is a testament to the fact that you CAN have incredible pastries made vegan. Their cronuts are to die for, and their breakfast sandwiches, croissants, CHEESE DANISHES, and everything else are very good. The one thing that I have found slightly disappointing is their almond croissant - it's flat and not very crispy (but still tasty!)

Delicious pastries and very cute place - Edit
The place is very nice and cozy, and the pastries are really good!! The pistachio donut was my favorite. They have most of it on display but there’s also some items to order like burgers, avocado toast and tacos. Coffee was good, wish they used a glass cup instead of plastic though!

Vegan Bakery - Edit
I loved the assortment of vegan pastries to choose from. There was a variety of sweet and savory options. Since they don't serve food outside of this, I got 2 pastries, a sweet and a savory. I tried the sausage, cheese croissant, and the almond croissant. I would've preferred the pastries to be heated up. Nothing beats the warm, straight out of the oven experience.

Pastry overload goodness - Edit
This pastry shop did not disappoint. We made a dessert run after eating lunch. My non vegan family enjoyed the cinnamon roles, banana and chocolate pastry, and the almond croissant. My favorite was the banana chocolate filled pastry. 🙌 I wish they would’ve warmed them up for us but we still devoured every crumb.
