Pour y avoir mangé quelques fois, toute la carte est excellente et le staff est adorable. On y retrouve toutes les saveurs africaines classiques qui font plaisir et des burger à tomber ! Le prix est très raisonnable pour Paris en plus, foncez !

We had two of the house cocktails, L’Embuscade and Le Traquenard, and found neither to be especially good—not well balanced. We started with the fritelles, fried cauliflower and red onion fritters, and they were really great, the highlight of the meal. For mains we had the yassa tofu, which was honestly bad, extremely salty without much flavor beyond that; and the mbakhalou saloum, a mid rice and mafé sauce with an excellent tamarind grilled portobello mushroom. Some good things, and I’d like to come back and try more of the menu, but on average it wasn’t great.

Update: I have been back to this place to try the food. I had a delicious dinner made of all kind of nice vegetables and lovely spicy flavors. The cuisine is a fusion mix of Caribbean and African. Super delicious.
Read moreThe first iteration of this review was based on the late-night scene at L’Embuscade as I arrived well after midnight and the kitchen was already closed. They had a DJ and the place had the right amount of people you want to see in a bar. Had a fantastic cocktail made of whiskey with shaved cacao on top. Music, staff, vibes were all excellent. Next time I’ll come in time for dinner!!

Au menu :
- accras de tofu en entrée (team tofu à fond ici)
- le bol Libre en plat de mon côté (riz cassé, sauce arachide, grenade, plantain, portobello et légumes)
- le bol Chéri pour elle (manioc, haricot niébé, grenade, légumes sauce yassa et oignons bhajis à la place des accras de tofu)
- ginger beer et bissap pour les boissons 🍹
C'était délicieux, généreux, chaleureux, trop contente de rajouter l'Embuscade à mon carnet d'adresses ✨

It is always nice to find vegan food in France, and the staff here is super kind and helpful with English speakers. The place also has a very nice atmosphere and good draft beer.
Read moreHowever, the food was a bit disappointing for the price. It looked and tasted like a mix of pre-made or frozen meals put together on a plate. The extra hot sauce was mild, not really hot. It is fine if you need an easy vegan place to sit, but the food quality could be much better.

Lovely, homely, restaurant with satisfying wholefoods menu. Nostalgic for me as I lived in West Africa so brought an extra smile to my face. My mum who is omni enjoyed it too and was a lovely experience for both of us. Staff are warm and friendly and atmosphere was great. O "L'Ambuscade" tem um ambiente muito aconchegante, com as luzes mais baixas e a decoração com discos antigos, mapa das ilhas de Cabo Verde e um bar com muitas bebidas para os drinques preparados na hora e notas de dinheiro de diferentes moedas do mundo junto de desenhos e mensagens penduradas, mostrando que o local tem história.

O atendimento também foi muito bom.
A comida fica dentro do preço habitual para Paris, com entrada, prato principal e sobremesa ficando na casa dos 30 e poucos euros por pessoa.
A entrada de banana frita é sensacional!
Os pratos principais foram muito bons também, mas a estrela da noite foi a sobremesa. Pedimos uma de cada, ambas misturam itens quentes e frios e frutas com outras delícias.
De maneira geral os pratos também são bem servidos, de forma que a refeição satisfaz e encontramos ofertas de coisas que apenas restaurantes africanos vão oferecer, como o suco de "bissap" (hibisco).
Não experimentamos bebidas alcoolicas, embora os drinques pareçam ser pontos fortes do local também.

I'm so happy that we visited this place on our last evening in Paris. It was realy great. The food is very tasty and with a variety of vegan african food I was happy to try a senegalese dish. Service was grest too.
