Tasty food - Edit
The food was delicious, I've loved every dish! It's tasty, well cooked, savory. I'd come again to try the rest of the menu. The portions were good also, you're eating fresh food and I've got to thank the Chef in his kitchen as I went to the bathroom, He was so humble and happy

Very cool place - Edit
I unfortunately just came for dessert and a drink, so I didn’t get to try the main dishes lol, But the dessert was amazing! So I imagine the main courses are just as amazing. The atmosphere was great and service was so friendly.

Fun and enjoyable bar!! - Edit
This review is based on the late-night scene at L’Embuscade as I arrived well after midnight and the kitchen was already closed. They had a DJ and the place had the right amount of people you want to see in a bar. Had a fantastic cocktail made of whiskey with shaved cacao on top. Music, staff, vibes were all excellent. Next time I’ll come in time for dinner!!

An English Vegan in Paris - Edit
This is an amazing place to go on a Saturday night. It’s lively, has a cool vibe and great music. The food was exceptional. To start we shared the Cauliflower and red onion bahjis, with jerk bbq sauce, which were full of flavour, and Safou and melon tartare. This was a more subtle dish; it felt more like a palate cleanser but was perfect. For main, I had Mbongo tofu which was amazing and my husband had Mbahalou saloum which was tasty and wholesome. Dessert was Los diablitos which was a perfect finish to a fantastic meal.

J’ai adoré la déco du lieu et la musique, j’ai pris à emporter leur burger qui était délicieux mais c’est surtout leurs frites de patate douce qui sont absolument incroyables.

Afro-vegan! - Edit
Excellent little bar/restaurant with a short but inspired menu of Afro-inspired vegan dishes. We really enjoyed the food, the cocktails, the hospitality and the general vibe. Located on one of Montmatre's quieter streets, it is well worth seeking out. Good times await you!

WTF! - Edit
…and I mean that in the best way possible! I was shaking my head in disbelief when experiencing the exotic flavour explosions of their sweet potato tacos with porcini, guacamole and citric confit, the peanut jackfruit pies with tomato sauce and their rich vegan version of chachupa, a traditional stew of Cape Verde. Also the Big Bun SOSO-TÉ, a hamburger with an oyster mushroom coated in breadcrumbs as a patty, was perfection in taste and crunch, accompanied by the best cassava fries I’ve ever had. Last, the French toast interpretation with rhubarb and hibiscus was an excellent sweet finish. They also offer many delightful homemade sauces and lemonades. Happy, familiar vibe, too, plus great value for money.

Excellent Food, Cantankerous Owner - Edit
The food was fabulous. Sadly, the [censored] attitude left so much to be desired. It was ZERO degrees Centigrade outside today, and they wouldn’t let us in 5 minutes before it opened (we had a reservation). They even said we were “wasting their time”.

Good experience after all - Edit
I went there 2 years ago and was disappointed because the food was bland and not spicy at all.
Read moreI wanted to give it another try so I went last week and I’m glad I did. The starter was good and full of flavours. The main dish was good but did not taste like African food (as for me, it tasted like a French dish cooked with red wine). The dessert was delicious.
