Breakfast burrito and the jam and cream donut were amazing. Sometimes vegan cheese and egg can taste a bit too ‘artificial’ for me but wasn’t the case here. This alone made the trip to Dunedin worth it!

We loved our baguette, burrito and cake slices. If we’d stayed longer in Dunedin, we would’ve happily visited every day! Friendly service, lots to choose from and great prices too.

I added jalepenos to my mac n cheese burrito, which balanced the richness with some acid.
The breakfast burrito was perfect too.
Unfortunately we were too late in the day to snag a banh mi... oh well, theres always tomorrow...

Quaint little venue with covered outdoor seating. Generous savoury menu and a great selection of doughnuts. There were 2x cake options when we went there as well. Also good sized portions for the price.
Read moreThere was only the one woman (?owner) working and she was incredibly efficient (we are a family of 4 and ordered 4x savoury, 4x doughnuts and 1 slice of cake for our drive to Mount Cook). She even threw in 4 crumbed Camembert balls as thanks for our patience - however we have waited far longer in other establishments where there were multiple staff. I didn't catch her name, but she was fab!
And the food was Amazing - flavourful, fresh and light (you were left feeling full but not heavy - if that makes sense!). This was the best vegan we've had during our NZ trip so far!
A must stop if you're heading to Dunedin.

I ate my burrito too quickly to think of taking a photo. I ordered the breakfast burrito, filled with vegan omelette, hashbrown, bacon and cheese. It was the best burrito I've ever had. I can't wait to try their different options.

So yeah the title says it all. So many good choices here that it was hard to choose. In the end, we chose the Mac n Cheese burrito and the Banh Mi baguette. Both delicious. We also ordered some yummy desserts. Seriously one of the best vegan joints in all of NZ!!

Having spent a week on the south island we havent been overly impressed with the vegan options but this one got a rare 5 stars.
Read moreWe got the chicken Pesto baguette and the breakfast Burrito. Both were delicious with heaps of flavour. The bread of the baguette was nice and fresh. They were very reasonably priced especially considerating they use mock meat and dairy.
We also go two cookies and a chocolate filled donut. At the time of this review we have eaten one of thr cookies which was PERFECT, nice and soft and I'm sure the other two desserts will be just as good

We spaced out our day trip so we could come here and I’m so glad we did. The cafe has a communal table. It was a difficult decision but I had the salad burrito burger and added not bacon. The cheddar spread was so good. When you spend $10 or more there is free filter coffee with soy. Or $2.50. I wish more cafes did this.

We visited Let Them Eat Vegan in March 2025 for lunch while on holiday. We were impressed with their menu which included some pretty creative items. We ordered the mac 'n' cheese burrito and the bangers 'n' mash burrito and both were delicious and decent value for money. Staff were friendly and we were able to sit outside to eat which suited us perfectly. Always great to visit a vegan place and would definitely recommend if you're in Dunedin.

You have to go here. The best place we’ve been to in NZ (and possibly the world). We had the totally original burrito, mac and cheese burrito, salami and cheddar baguette and doughnuts and everything was incredible. My favourite was the totally original burrito. Free coffee with purchases over $10. I keep thinking about the doughnuts and wish we bought more!

My partner and I went there today and got two burritos (breakfast burrito and mac n cheese burrito) which were fantastic, tasty and generous portions! We also got choc chip biscoff cookies were so delightful we had to get some more for the road ( a coffee cream donut YUM)!

Excellent tiny vegan outlet in the middle of Dunedin. Great choice every day, always hot food (burritos) and baguettes plus various pies and excellent doughnuts. Wide range of fake meats and cheeses too. Tofu banh mi baguette especially good.

It was closed when we passed through Dunedin so we went back again the next day to try it out. SO worth it! Staff are awesome, menu changes each day... Generously filled burritos, baguettes and subs. Free coffee if you spend over $10 (bring your own keep cup), delicious donuts and a fridge full of delicious sounding cheeses and deli meats. Can't wait to try our selection. Highly recommend!
