The absolute best for vegan food - Edit
Every product Is well thought off and absolutely delicious. A custard square is something I never thought I'd have agai but these guys nailed it. Cheddar cheese and camber is top notch and thier chicken substitute is fantastic too. Be honest that's all I've tried from the fridge. Pies are also 10 out of 10.

Outstanding baguette and much more! - Edit
This beautiful fully vegan cafe is a must if you’re in Dunedin- they make all they’re ‘cheeses’ and ‘meats’ and the result was an outstanding baguette. The couple we met were legends as well and we wish them all the best for the future.

Amazing food - Edit
The food here is so good and the portion size is great value for money. Last time we had a burrito with the burger sauce. I could drink that sauce, one of the best vegan meals iv ever tasted. The staff are super friendly too. We come back here every time we go into Dunedin.

Let them eat custard! - Edit
Went to Let Them Eat Vegan for the first time ever on Saturday and had the most beautiful custard square. I could not tell it apart from any egg or milk containing version. It was smooth, with just the right hint of vanilla, and perfect texture. Icing was very sweet (a bit too much??), but otherwise delicious.

Delicious treats - Edit
Love this place - always great stuff on offer. The menu changes daily, there’s always a pie special, a sandwich and a hot dish. There are also vegan cheeses and faux meats in the fridge to take away. You must try the chocolate chip cookies stuffed with Oreos - they are incredible.

Worth the wait! - Edit
Finally had the chance to eat at this wee gem on our trip to Dunedin this past week. The first visit we tried the lasagne pie and banana cake. Both were amazing. Second visit we tried the Mac and cheese and bacon pie and a savoury brioche. Again really good. Hands down the lasagne pie was our favourite! If you see it on the menu it's a MUST TRY! Also took away some treats from their fridge chorizo, Italian sausages, and camembert. Can't wait to try them all! Very friendly staff and all the food looks amazing! Highly recommend trying out their amazing eats and we will surely be coming back next time we're in Dunedin!

Great takeaway vegan “meats” - Edit
Why would anyone bother with real bacon or sausage when this is so tasty? Let them eat vegan, indeed! So glad we stopped by to take a look and picked up some of their wares.

They have awesome filter coffee, which you can enjoy in one of their colourful coffee mugs. Have a swear snickers bar or a freshly made baguette. Super nice people and a welcoming atmosphere.

Long-overdue visit - why did I wait so long? - Edit
I've been meaning to check this little deli out for ages but never seemed to get around to it - I'm really glad I finally did! I saw on FB that they were doing a bulgogi sub and because I love Korean food, I resolved to make the epic lunchtime trek from my workplace. The sub was assembled while I waited and was still warm by the time I got back to work. It tasted amazing: the "meat" was very convincing and totally delicious, the sesame slaw was crunchy and good (bit too oniony for me, but that's just personal preference - love the taste, hate the aftertaste), and the roll was just the right mix of chewy/crunchy. I only managed to eat half even though I was super hungry, but polished off the rest at afternoon tea, so great value for only $9. It's probably just as well they are a good distance away - any closer and I'd be eating there every day! I look forward to my next visit and checking out their vegan meats and cheeses.

We went there to get some sandwiches, unfortunately they were sold out so we bought some of the homemade seitan and jackfruit ribs. Wow! Both tasted absolutely incredible and is homemade. Also really good price compared with what you normally pay for meat replacement at supermarkets. Thanks!

My Favourite Cafe in Dunedin!! - Edit
This place has the best fully vegan menu of any place in Dunedin. The food is delicious, and the menu changes daily, which is great for variety. I go here as often as I can and it’s great value for money, especially as vegan food is often overpriced.
Read moreThe staff are so friendly, and the shop itself has a lovely vibe to it. They also have helpful signs up that have useful information for vegans (such as where to get protein or iron, or how a vegan helps the world in just one day). On top of the menu they also have a deli where they stock a ton of vegan essentials and delicious frozen pies.
I have a lot of non-vegan friends, some of whom are adamant meat-eaters and they still enjoy the food. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who was looking for somewhere to eat in Dunedin. The only issue I found with it was the meat was almost scarily realistic.
Pros: Great Value, Delicious food, Friendly staff

Best place to eat in Dunedin! - Edit
On our first visit to Dunedin we decided to give this café a try, and boy were we impressed. You cannot go wrong. We ate a few things.
Read moreTheir pies are delicious, I had the Japanese Chicken Curry. The baguette was fresh and yummy. The Wonky Wanda Bar (?) Was off the charts! Brownie, raw cookie dough, and Whittakers dark chocolate all in one.
We also got some vegan cheddar cheese and mock ham in paper (A HUGE 'thank you' to the cook) we were so impressed that she wants to reduce the plastic - please support her by buying food in paper. Although veganism is for the farmed animals (mostly), wildlife need our help to.
We trieda few places while we were in Dunedin and Let Them Eat Vegan is well and truly at the top of our list. Please support them!
Pros: Plastic free options, Delicious food, Wonderful staff , Innovative
Cons: Not a single con. Do yourself a favour and go!

nice surprise! - Edit
I had my very first pie ever. And it was so good! And the sweets, oh my! A bit tricky to see/find because it is at the end of a small lane, and than you are in front of this small sized shop, and you think: that's it? But then i went inside, and everything looked somehow happy and delicious, and so it was! Great great stuff. I had a pie, my sister kimchi, as dessert and later we had a mousse burger, rocky road, and something more i forgot the name, but not the taste! And the home-made ketchup tomato!
Read moreI already miss this place.
And please, take your time and enjoy some chatting with the really kindly people beyond the counter!
Pros: you can eat there, take away or frozen., not expensive , friendly, kindly people
Cons: might be missed at the first look into that lane, just two small tables outside

Such a cool little place with some really awesome and delicious options. My partner and I couldn't decide what to get so we ended up buying both sandwich options and most of the sweet treats to share. Yum! So good that there was a repeat performance the next day. Probably a good thing i don't live in dunedin or I'd be poor and fat.
