Almost all vegan menu with just 2 (just go all vegan imo) vegetarian options (misleading marked with the vegan 'V' symbol). Nice place with a chill atmosphere but it's too expensive for the portion sizes.

La comida estaba rica pero las raciones de los platos principales parecen entrantes, son bastante pequeñas y a 12 o 13€ de media por plato sale un poco caro. Un entrante y dos principales con una botella de agua pequeña y uno de los postres más económicos nos salió por 42€. Para mi gusto se debería aumentar la cantidad de los principales. Yummy food but scarce quantity so you feel like you have to go somewhere else to finish eating...

Some dishes have a lot of things that don’t require any elaboration (such as the beyond meat burger and cheese that is not homemade and looks like poor quality).
Read moreI ordered a burger and from the description it sounded like they had made it in house and then I was surprised with a beyond meat burger, which is not at all what I wanted. If they would have been clear in the description it would have been fine, but they were not transparent.
Also, since I don’t eat gluten, I asked to swap the bread on a dish for a couple of poppadoms from a different dish they had on the menu for that day, and they said that it was not possible... when it clearly was. I also had to insist on the waitress to check, because she was telling me that the poppadom had gluten and I said to her that I found that strange as they are made with lentils. I had to insist a fair bit until she went and asked (it did not have gluten like I anticipated).
I have given the place two opportunities and both times there was something a bit off in the ingredients they chose, or it did not feel as natural or they were not nice. Well, a mix of everything really. So I am never coming back.

Excellent tasting menu - Edit
Went for lunch, chose the tasting menu and sat at the bar watching the chef prepare it. Food was excellent, neatly presented and many courses, all seemed to be vegan except possibly the ice cream.

Mains were a green lentil rigatoni, chilli on grilled polenta and a burger for the wee one. Lots of lasting flavour, depth and not coming through late. Great healthy food (except the burger) and the best place I’ve eaten in Alicante so far. #Veganuary
Stopped for a second time and wasn’t disappointed.

Read moreThe decision what to get wasn’t easy, but I chose the asparagus hot dog with caramelized onions and creamy mayo, which was definitely the best hot dog I had.
Before, the friendly waiter brought me some olives and a little cup of asparagus-potato-soup as an amuse bouche (free sample to try), nice!
He also recommended the „arroz con leche thai“ as a dessert.
I first thought that milk-rice isn’t that special, but hell, I was wrong!
It looks like a sweet paella and was heavenly creamy, with fresh berries and caramelized sugar on top, like a creme brûlée, only better!
Unfortunately I had to leave Alicante that day and was lucky to get a place at the bar (without reservation), I would have loved to check all their other dishes out!
Interesting is, that none of the team members is vegan or vegetarian (I had a nice chat with the them).

I loved my dining experience at Lluvia and I am very glad that I picked them for the New Year´s evening! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service staff is really nice and the menu is small but versatile and creative. My absolute favourite was the Empanada which is an appetizer unfortunately but hopefully they will make it a main dish at some point. And be sure to leave some space for dessert, the "arroz del senyoret" is to die for!

The restaurant is really adorable and the waitresses helped us as good as possible to understand the Spanish menu. The options are mostly vegan so it’s easy to find something tasty and vegan. However, the portions are quite small for the price. Nevertheless, it’s one of only a few purely vegetarian places in Alicante so if you want to go to a meat and nearly dairy free place, you should go there while in Alicante.

The food is utterly delicious, the staff are incredibly friendly - do not walk past this little restaurant. A great find thanks to Happy Cow. They have a wide range of dishes on the menu with many intriguing us. Unfortunately we could only choose one starter to share plus a main and pudding each. All five dishes were delicious. They looked magnificent when they arrived and tasted devine. The arroz pudding was a work of art with the fruits on the top making a great design. They were reasonably priced and arrived promptly. A special word for the two waitresses who were so efficient. They explained on the menu all the ingredients etc. They promptly removed our dishes when we had finished and when I had finished my wine quickly asked if I wanted more. There are so many more dishes to try so I am sure we will be looking for excuses to visit Alicante again.
