Delicious delightful food, service and view - Edit
The staff are so kind and friendly, and speak English. You order and pay via WeChat mini app with translation available. There’s a mix of burgers and fries with traditional Chinese dishes. I highly recommend the vegan char siu, never seen this veganised before but it was great. It was a bit on the pricey side though. They have hot chocolate here with pistachio milk and other lovely sounding drinks. There are plugs to charge devices at most seating points! The view of the French concession area is on the 8th floor and there is a rooftop or lots of windows. It’s a large space and was not packed at all at peak lunch time.
Read moreNote it’s not wheelchair accessible. You can get a lift up to 7th floor but need to use stairs to get up to 8th. This is well signed.
Pros: Fantastic vegan find in a key tourist spot
Cons: Signature dishes quite expensive

Great little bakery with pastry and cake options. - Edit
I came for lunch and some sweet treats after. The food was incredible. Staff all speak English really well, so ordering is very easy. I tried the hot dog, Thai rice and pork ribs. The pork ribs were my favourite as the plum sauce flavour was amazing.

LN Fortunate Coffee in Shanghai - Edit
🌿 My husband and I went to LN Fortunate Coffee in Shanghai for lunch, and it truly amazed him! One dish that stood out was their scrambled eggs, uniquely made with tofu sheets and served in a 🥯 bagel. The texture was silky smooth – such a creative twist! 👩🍳
Read more🍔 We also had the burger with fries and salad. The burger patty was made from whole foods, not mock meat, and topped with homemade melted vegan cheese. It was absolutely delicious – healthy and satisfying! 🥗
🍨 To finish, we treated ourselves to their totally vegan ice-cream (milky, not sorbet), along with a variety of cakes. We chose Mango and Passionfruit, Mixed Berries, and a Blueberry Cheesecake – all so rich and delightful! 🍰
☕ Of course, being a coffee shop, they offer a wide selection of plant-based milk options. You can also choose your preferred coffee beans. We love a darker roast with nutty and chocolatey notes, so we went for an oat latte and an iced coffee with pistachio milk. The flavours were fantastic! 🥛
💕 LN Fortunate Coffee regularly organises charity events to support various community projects, which is so thoughtful of them! A restaurant with such heart not only provides us with tasty vegan dishes but also helps others through their meaningful actions. Definitely deserving of our support! 🌍

💕 LN Fortunate Coffee 还经常举办慈善活动,支持各种社区项目,真的非常有心!这样有爱的餐厅,不仅为我们提供美味的素食,还通过实际行动帮助他人,值得我们多多支持!🌍

Calm and cozy vibe - Edit
The food was a bit mixed, we didnt love the scrambled “egg” bagel too much nor the sausage substitute but the creme brulée and waffle were pretty good! Maybe we just didn’t order the right thing. It’s a tiny bit more pricey but overall would still recommend.😄

Lovely cafe with a great view - Edit
It’s located on the 7th or 8th floor and therefore a bit more difficult to find. I’m seriously confused why this place isn’t super crowded. The interior is comfortable, you can sit outside on the terrace with a nice view, the staff was super friendly and the sweet food was delicious. I can only talk about the pastry 😅 it was too tempting so I didn’t try the “real food”.

Both sweet and savory options, both choices here. Got the dirty coffee(cold) with oat milk. Also mango kale salad (great), egg tomato sandwich ( not great, bland), char siu (small but tasty), cinnamon roll (great) and Hong Kong cocktail roll filled with creamed coconut (great). Service super friendly and fast. They all speak English and help you with ordering. Overall, a really nice café experience. Will come back!

Welcome Home - Edit
A return to Shanghai wouldn't be complete without a return home & that is exactly the welcome we received. The staff make this place and the food that much more enjoyable. I was lucky to try the new strawberry & chocolate ice creams, the churros which are all amazing, as well as sampling a new peanut cookie. So happy to see so many happy familiar faces and see that this place is popular.

It's been 2 years since LN Fortunate closed & now they are finally back in Shangha in an amazing new location in the heart of the former French concession. Look for Peet's Coffee and round to the right of it is an entrance where you can take a lift to the 7th floor, then the stairs up to the 8th floor attic space where you will be warmly greeted like family by the amazing staff. What a stunning space this is with a small rooftop balcony affording great views but none as great as the mural painted by an extremely talented local artist. I was lucky to attend the opening party last Wednesday but today I wanted to try regular service. You can follow their Wechat account to receive 10% off your orders and you order by scanning the QR code on your table. We both had the vegan burger and fries, which were as good as I remember especially the salt & pepper seasoned fries. The cinnamon bun and matcha breads were amazing relying on flavour rather than sugar. I had an oat milk latte to go which was delicious. I look forward to trying other menu items.

This is the trendiest, most welcoming coffee shop in Shanghai. And it’s so much more than a coffee shop! All the food is excellent, especially the curries. Their coffee is top notch. My favourite vegan place in the world - Edit
I love this place. The food is great. The staff are great. The rooftop area has nice views and inside it’s equally beautiful.
Read moreIt might be tricky for some to find so here’s some simple directions to help. If you walk down Wukang Road from Hunan Road on the right side of the road you will go past Ferguson Lane on your right (shops area) which has two entrance/exits. After the second of these, there are some steps on the right just before you get to the junction with Taian Road. Go up these and walk down the side of the building (which is on your left) for 5m until you get to a glass door. Go in and on the left are two lifts. Go up to the top floor (labelled for the Cafe), come out of the lifts and then ahead and up the stairs one floor to the cafe. Enjoy! It’s a wonderful place. Photo directions in attached image.
