Great vibes - Edit
I used to work in this cafe when I came to Budapest a lot. Lovely vibes, the coffee is amazing and there is always a good vegan sandwich and pastry to be had as well if you need to get lunch! One of the branches if you sit outside you can see the parliament building from.

Amazing surprise find - Edit
We just randomly stopped here looking for a drink and a toilet and found a really cute place with great drinks and a lot of options for plant based cakes! I had a slice of the lemon chocolate tarte and it was absolutely amazing.

Loads of vegan options, I got the raspberry pistachio loaf & an oat flat (unfortunately couldn’t warm up the loaf). Cutest interior but couldnt say no to the lovely outdoor seating. Coffee was fantastic too

Almost everything is vegan! - Edit
A lovely surprise - almost everything was vegan when we visited, except 2 croissants. A good selection of vegan sandwiches, croissants and other baked items. The milk selection is somewhat limited, they only had oat and rice when we visited. The latte and flat white were both lovely, too.

Coffee good, croissant dry - Edit
Had oat milk lattes and a ginger and lemon croissant. The lattes were good, but the croissant was not great. The ‚ginger and lemon‘ just tasted like marmalade in the middle of a quite dry croissant. It was worth a try but wouldn’t get it again.
Read moreLots of other cake options.
Plenty of seating outside, but smaller inside.
Staff were pleasant enough.
Pros: Latte, Lots of cake options
Cons: Vegan croissant not great, Not a vegan establishment!!

Quick pop in - Edit
Needed a drink and saw this cafe. I got a Matcha Latte and asked for a small vegan bite, to my surprise they had quite some options (clearly labelled)! Got myself a slice of banana bread, it was a tad dry but I kinda like it that way.

Great coffee - Edit
Coffee was pretty good but the carrot cake was a little blah and tasteless. Nevertheless, I’d go back and try other things. The service was friendly and they were happy to chat and give recommendations. Nice that they’re open til 7:30.

My favourite Budapest cafe - Edit
Plant-based owners so lots of healthy vegan options. Had a vegan sandwich with tofu & vegetables which was delicious. Also enjoyed the turmeric latte. Returned another day & had an oat latte & a circular melt-in-your-mouth chocolate snack which was light & enjoyable. Very attractive inside & lovely outdoor seating. Located on a very pleasant pedestrianised road which has several options for vegans looking for something to eat. Was my favourite Budapest cafe.

No Allergen Info - Edit
The beetroot late was grainy for some reason and there’s no allergen info on any of the items. They do have a wide variety and their stuff looks delicious, but the looks are sadly deceiving. Creative, but needs improvement. Skip the banana bread as well.

Amazing! - Edit
It’s true that the cafe on Ferenciek tere was very crowded and loud but still we managed to find a table. I tried the vegan banana bread and chai latte and first of all, I highly recommended this combination! The banana bread was great it tasted fresh and the chai latte was the best I’ve ever had.

Cozy cafe close to Margaret Island - Edit
Madal cafe is a chain with 3 cafés in Budapest, and one of them is this one, close to Jászai Mari square. It has a very nice interior, tasty coffees, various kinds of desserts and sandwiches. Among all types you can find vegan options. They didn't have soy milk, but had oat milk and rice milk for my cappuccino. I went for the oat one and the cappuccino was very nice.
