Tasty Chinese in stylish modern restaurant

Visited for dinner. Prices are on the higher end but everything we ordered tasted great and it is a very pleasant dining atmosphere in Tai Kwun. They have excellent labelling - vegan and vegetarian menu is a separate full page in the a la carte menu.

We ordered:
- dim sum platter: this is 8 pieces of mushroom dumplings (some in beetroot casing and some in plain casing) and spinach/vegan mozzarella dumplings. Good dish.
- cucumber in aged vinegar and garlic: nice crunchy and flavourful appetiser
- salt and pepper crispy tofu: as you would expect crispy outside and tender inside. Standard dish but done well.
- impossible mapo tofu: very yummy. Soft silky tofu in tasty sauce. Best dish we ordered.
- sweet potato noodles with pickled peppers (and egg removed): good.

Excellent Venue with Veggie Options

We sat for dinner and really enjoyed the vegan dim sum platter.
Selected ‘impossible’ tofu for main, the ‘fish’ had run out unfortunately. This was delicious with silken tofu.
The mixed veg plate was done to perfection.

Pros: Ambience , Service, Location

Cons: Pricey, Only select vegan/veggie options

Delicious and satisfying!!

For vegan dim sum this was pretty good (as it should be at those prices)! I’m mostly just really happy they have such big vegan and veggie menu as part of a Green Monday partnership. It’s such an expensive and luxurious experience that your expectations are instantly set very high.

Main complaint id say is most of the dim sum had the same mushroom based filling, delicious but eventually too samey.

Highlight was vegan ma po tofu and the cucumber! Lowlight was the eggplant with garlic. #Veganuary

Fantastic vegan dim sum

I love coming here with vegans and non-vegans alike. Great vegan options and the best setting! Absolute favourite!
