Lovely spot - Edit
No filler, all killer, lovely family run place that's been there forever. Great food and mostly locals who go, definitely give it a visit if you're on portobello road. Also the banana bites are fab!

Makan Cafe - 5 Stars from Me! - Edit
Makan is a family-owned Malaysian restaurant in the heart of Portobello Road serving up the most delicious authentic Malaysian food with loads of vegan options. I have eaten here several times and am always super impressed with the food and shocked at how much you get (quality and quantity) for a very reasonable price considering this is London. I always get the vegetable plate, which includes three items of your choice on top of fried vermicelli noodles. I absolutely love the yellow lentil option and the tofu options. Last time I was there all vegetarian dishes in the display were vegan except one item with egg. Staff will always double check with the chef if you want them to do that. The inside is no-frills which makes it a great casual place to grab a bite during a visit to Portobello Road!
