Mildreds, established since 1988 and reported vegan in May 2021, operates several restaurants in London. Its changing menu offers British classics as well fusion meals, with example dishes like mushroom pie, Indian curry, lentil burger, tortilla chips and gucamole, burger with fries, waffles, vegan brownie with ice cream. This branch is small and gets crowded at rush hour so expect a wait. Open Mon-Sat 09:00-23:00, Sun 09:00-22:00.

La catena Mildred’s offre ristoranti vegani per tutta londra e non solo. Hanno un ampio menu con varie proposte, di base piatti non molto abbondanti e costo abbastanza elevato. Abbiamo provato un antipasto di verdure ( dire misero sarebbe fargli un complimento), un’insalata di carciofi romani con salsa allo yogurt e bacon in aggiunta, zuppa di noodle shiratake e il tiramisù. Menzione speciale al tiramisù al cioccolato bianco, davvero ottimo, piatto assolutamente da ordinare se si prova mildred’s per la prima volta.

A great brunch spot for our recent weekend in London, the Charmoulah brunch is really tasty and so filling I couldn't finish it all! A really good combo of flavours and good value for money.
Read moreMy friend (non-vegan) had the Biscoff pancakes, her review was that they were great but a little on the stodgy side. They did look quite a bit smaller and less fluffy than the ones I have had at other branches previously, but still really good!

Be warned!! Our reservation to the Sodo location was rescheduled to Madame Mildred’s, no problem I understand that happens. However I expected the same quality and class as all other Mildred’s locations, absolutely not the case!
Read moreMadame Mildred’s location is covered in sexually suggestive drawings of partially nude white women. The slogans on the drawings are vulgar and so offensive. They are on every wall and window.
I’m fine with nudity, bodies should be celebrated(although a warning when our reservation was canceled would have been appreciated) as we had a youth with us, what I’m not okay with is promoting archaic ideas of beauty and sexuality. I’m beyond disappointed that Mildred’s would promote this sexist, racist, heteronormative stereotype. If you want to do a nude theme then you should embrace all body sizes, colors and genders.
Be warned this is absolutely not a family friendly restaurant. I was blind sided by this. When I told a staff member this they said “you were told it’s 80’s themed”. I’m sorry but I didn’t realize that the part of the 80’s Mildred’s wanted to celebrate was blatant sexism, and the idea that only skinny white women can be, and should be, seen as sexual objects. I’ve been coming to Mildred’s for over 10 years, but will have to re-think if I will ever return to any of their locations. I don’t want to give my money to a business that chooses to promote these backward ideals, women have fought so hard for the progress we have made and I refuse to support those that want to drag us back.

We had a great range of delicious starters, mains and desserts all beautifully crafted. The restaurant experience is however substantially degraded by the noise level with even quiet attempts at conversations reverberating against the bare walls and floors, further exacerbated by the unnecessary background music. We were at a table for 6 and it was pretty difficult to hear anyone clearly except the person next or opposite to you

We just arrived in London and in our jetlagged state, we were thrilled to find Mildreds! We ordered the kim chi gyoza and the kiri hodi. We were delighted with both selections. We indulged a bit and ordered the tiramisu for dessert. It was heavenly! We are in London for 10 days and we know we will be back!

I did a good choice for my last dinner before coming back Italy. Staff was very friendly and offer best service possible. Dishes were well presented and food was superlative. Our choices: Arancini, Kim Chi Gyoza, Salt and Pepper Tofu Bokkeumbap and Shiitake tempeh dan dan noodles. We finished our meal with delicious desserts: White Chocolate Tiramisu and Chocolate Ganache layer cake (my favourite!). Add this restaurant on your wish list!

Read moreKleiner Minuspunkt: das Lokal ist sehr „eng“ wir saßen zu 5. an einem sehr kleinen Tisch, die Teller hatten kaum Platz, die Klimaanlage war super kalt eingestellt und die Preise sind schon üppig 🙊! Würden trotzdem wieder hingehen, aber nicht für ein „gemütliches“ Dinner. Die Location in Camden zum Beispiel ist größer und „ruhiger“.

We really loved the food and the staff were lovely too but I have never in my life been in such a loud and cramped restaurant. The tables are incredibly close, the 2 tables right next to us were literally 30cm away. I’m a slim female and I could barely take my seat without touching the table next to us with my behind, it was a struggle.

We went there for brunch and were not disappointed. They offer three types of pancakes and four different brunch platters which are not your ordinary English breakfast but have a very interesting twist. Portion sizes are fine. The berry pancakes were lovely and not too sweet which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was attentive and service was fast. You could tell they are a chain and every process is very efficient. We got some tap water but the bottle was filthy and they were little things swimming in there. The desks are very close to each other and it was really loud in there so we left immediately after food.

Heard of Mildred’s plenty of times before but never had the pleasure of stopping by until today. Very nice spot to grab some good food, and it was reassuring to see it doing good trade. Lots of staff (all of which were very friendly) to make sure everyone was looked after. Good looking menu with central London prices. But I had the spinach pea aloo tikki burger and was very satisfied. Fresh, crisp, spicy and juicy all at the same time, and the chips were unreal. Would recommend for any vegan in the area!

Spent the day in town and myself and my non vegan friend wanted to get a bite to eat. We found Mildred’s, what can I say! The food is absolutely delicious! And the tiramisu is *chefs kiss* my friend is Italian and she said the tiramisu was like home.

Really disappointing following previous visits - Edit
I’ve been to Mildred’s Soho twice before. Bear in mind that the title of a previous review I wrote was ‘Perfect in Every Way’, so I was enthusiastic to return.
Read moreWe’d booked in advance but were left waiting for a table in the narrow corridor between the bar and the dining room. The dining room was very crowded and cramped. Soon after we arrived the lights were turned down so it was pretty dark and not great for those with visual impairments. The music was booming and repetitive which made it difficult to have a conversation and left me with a headache at the end of the night.
We were strongly steered towards the sharing menu by two servers, I guess because it’s easier for the kitchen to keep churning out the same dishes all evening. I have been really inspired by previous meals I’ve eaten there and even bought one of the cook books, but the food we were served was surprisingly uninspiring.
The salsa hummus was nice, but the whipped ‘mascarpone’ didn’t seem to have any flavour to it at all, and one pitta per person wasn’t enough with two dips. The padron peppers were under-seasoned and boring, the patatas bravas were nicely seasoned but I got an uncooked potato which made me gag and avoid eating any more of that dish. There was one gyoza and one arancini per person, and the arancini was served with a very overly-sweet bbq sauce. The faux chicken skewers were good, the plant-based chicken had a good flavour and texture, but again just one skewer per person, measly portions and bulked out with cheap ingredients. The aubergine bhata lacked seasoning and texture. Finally, the desert was one bite of ‘fudge’ per person, just really stingy.
Looking back at the photo I took of the menu while writing this review, I also realised that we didn’t seem to get any of the rainbow pickles either.
I’m disappointed we fell into the trap of the tasting menu because it felt like we just got a load of cheap dishes and the quality was more akin to a TGI Friday’s rather than the great food I’ve had at Mildred’s in the past. At £38 per person, it felt like a bit of a con.
The main waitress we had was very attentive however we did have to ask three times for a bottle of water for the table.
Really disappointed because I’ve always recommended Mildred’s to friends but now I can’t anymore because the food and atmosphere were so bad.
