Incredible! - Edit
10/10/24
Read moreWent here for my husband's birthday! Food, service, and overall experience were outstanding!! Genuinely the best restaurant dining experience of my life.
The only thing I would recommend is pacing yourself and not forcing yourself to eat when you are full just because it's so good (you can ask to have the food packed if you need.) I ate everything until dessert, which I nibbled on, then I had it packed, but by then I had gotten so full that I was nauseous for a while afterwards. Regardless of that, food is incredible and I loved every element of the meal!!

Vegan 5 course meal - Edit
Highly recommend Miss Rachel's Pantry! Reservations go quickly and there is a decent cost to go, but we found the food and experience well worth it! Oh and it's BYOB - they provide wine pairing recommendations in an email prior to the dinner.

Amazing experience - Edit
I wasn’t sure about dropping $200 for a dinner for two but this was a great experience. A five course meal and every dish was beautifully prepared. Inventive cuisine. Charming waitstaff. Delicious food.

Ruined all other restaurants for us - Edit
Miss Rachel's has set the bar extremely high. Any time we go to a high end vegan restaurant we find ourselves saying 'but it didn't come close to Miss Rachel's.' From the romantic, intimate ambiance to the truly unique and creative dishes, every meal here is an experience you will remember fondly. The staff are so friendly and considerate and make you feel as warm and cozy as the perfectly selected decor and lighting. Thank you Miss Rachel's for being a Philly institution and for sharing your vegan wisdom on Patreon!

Best Restaurant in the City! - Edit
It’s incredible to me how under reviewed this place is, come here for your birthday - your anniversary - to show your non vegan friends how amazing vegan food can be or just because you love really interesting and delicious food. Reservations are done a month in advance and will be fully booked the day they are released (sometimes within minutes). If you know you know. Reserve a table at their site between the 1st and 6th of each month. Everyone I have taken here has loved it. It’s a prefix menu that leaves you perfectly full that uses familiar foods cooked in ways and combines with other flavors I never would have imagined, as well as many plants I’ve never heard or parts of them au didn’t know you could eat but all ends up making it a struggle to eat slow but so pleasantly rewarding.

Amazing Multiple courses! - Edit
Had a great time here! Everything vegan! Managed to get a single table for two. Had multiple amazing tasting courses! The dessert (cake) I did think slightly too oily tho. Overall though definitely worth the price! The biscuits with vegan butter were the best!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had - Edit
This was our first time eating at Miss Rachel’s for dinner and wow! - why did we wait so long?! Everything was so fresh and delicious and you can really tell how much care Miss Rachel puts into her homemade cooking.
Read moreWe sat at the large communal table (there’s also several 2-tops available) and met some very nice people.
It was Italian night and the first course was a Handmade Seitan Sausage Cappelletti with a Rutabaga Alfredo sauce and this may sound like an exaggeration but it was the single greatest vegan item I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Simply amazing! The cappelletti was perfectly al dente and the alfredo was smooth and rich and creamy.
My other favorites were a Tuscan soup with malloreddus pasta and a chickpea cutlet piccata on rosemary mash potatoes and garlic rapini. So good.
For dessert was an Italian almond pound cake with date filling, lemon buttercream, and a fig and apple compote. The cake was great, the buttercream light and sweet, but I wished the filling was perhaps raspberry or something else. I’m not the biggest fan of dates but the cake was still tasty, nonetheless.
Check the website to see when new dinner dates are posted and don’t hesitate to sign up!
Pros: All vegan!, Intimate space
Cons: May have to book a month or more in advance

Vegan fine dining with soul - Edit
This is mainly a catering business but they also host Saturday evening communal farmhouse table dinners. Six courses, BYOB, $63 tax/person (includes gratuity). The food is FANTASTIC but the company can be mixed, since the table seats 12 and you never know who else will be dining with you that night. Bring your SO and/or friends and enjoy some mouth-watering eats in this cozy space. Check the calendar and make a reservation 2 weeks in advance.
Read moreYou can also rent out the space for a private party, either as a 6-course dinner for 12 or a cocktail party for 20.
During the winter holidays, Miss Rachel's Pantry also offers meals to go, both as individual plates and to-go catering trays. This is a life-saving option for those whose holidays are stressful enough without worrying about putting together a scrumptious vegan meal.
Pros: Delicious food, Amazing staff, Cozy atmosphere

Miss Rachel's Pantry FTW - Edit
Often one may not realize a profound moment until it is gone, thus their only memory is a remembrance rather than immediate understanding. This was the case for ecoRDN after a perfectly executed dining experience. True story, perfection is an abstract concept but it is possible during dining so bear with us as we #dinesplain. There are only so many variables when going out to eat and many can be reduced to binaries i.e., good food/bad food, good service/bad service, etc. Yet sometimes food stars align and dining plantophiles find their own end of rainbow nosh oases. Miss Rachel’s inspirited plant cuisine topped more best lists than ecoRDN knew we had. The most flavorful love inspired foods prepared amid an amazing buzz from a beautiful staff. Flawless execution in terms of tastes, textures and appearances. ecoRDN will make it simple: do you want arguably the most fully realized plant based mac and cheese ever? Go to Miss Rachel’s Pantry, dummy!

Everything is amazing!! - Edit
I've eaten breakfast here and gotten food to go, and both times it's been some of the most delicious vegan food I've eaten. The restaurant is definitely unassuming and has one, big family style table, so it's not necessarily a place I'd go for a standard sit-down meal. If you want delicious vegan food though, you really can't go wrong! The vegan grilled cheese steak on challah bread had to have been one of the best tasting sandwiches I've had in the past few years. You really can't go wrong here!

My Last Meal Would Come from Miss Rachel's! - Edit
After years of wanting to eat at Miss Rachel's, my cousin and I met there for lunch today. I ordered the grilled cheese and peach sandwich on homemade challah - and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Truly, it would be my request for a last meal. The mazoh ball soup was also yummy - and my cousin enjoyed the big salad. The staff was among the nicest I've ever encountered - with Miss Rachel being as kind and humble a chef as you'll ever meet. This is my new favorite lunch spot - even though I'll have to drive across the city to get there.

I've had the pleasure of sitting at the farm table on many occasions, both for dinners and weekend brunch. We've also purchased meals from Miss Rachel. This lady can cook! From comfort food to fancy dishes it's all delish and kosher! Very conscious of allergies so don't worry if you are gluten free, she's got you covered. Also a fantastic caterer. She does it all!!

Food with a soul - Edit
Not only did Miss Rachel caterer our wedding and have all of our carne guests swooning, her new location is simply amazing. Her staff is so sweet and helpful, she knows and meets all her guests, and her food, it merges comfort and tradition with soul, love, and no animals harmed. I took a job in the city just so I could stop here more! Her Mac and cheese and matzo ball soup are divine, her grilled cheese with buffalo tempeh left me smiling with each bite! This is an absolute must stop for philly eating, vegan or not!

Love the farm table and the food - Edit
This place is always a win. You have to make reservations for the small farm house dinner if seats are available, but it is definitely worth it. The farm house dinner was very filling and satisfying. Come hungry! Brunch is a win too with no reservations needed. Menu always changes. Love the variety. Rachel and everyone working there have always been welcoming.

Best Vegan Everything!!! Don't miss Brunch! - Edit
I've been eating Miss Rachael's for several years, I've enjoyed the Lunch Meal Delivery, breakfast biscuit sandwiches at the old West Passyunk location, Catering, Saturday Night dinner and regularly there for brunch in the cafe on weekends, so far absolutely everything has been amazing over all the years. The Saturday night dinner I was lucky to attend was probably the best sit down dinner of my life, everything Vegan and everything amazing!!! I am absolutely in love with the grilled cheeses available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and all of the wonderful hand pies and knishs.

big fan of the "meals at home!" - Edit
My husband and I are regulars! Menu changes every week. You can order main dishes (small and large casserole sizes), a salad option (which I haven't tried yet, but from reading the descriptions, they sound like they're packed with yummy ingredients like seasonal veggies and fruits), a special soup, and sweets too. Everything is very flavorful and hearty - and totally vegan!! My favorites have been the fettuccine, the BBQ seitan, and the chickpea curry quinoa dish.

Great place for lunch! The menu is short and sweet, including a couple sandwiches and salads, as well as a daily special. I'm currently addicted to "The Crabbie," a gourmet vegan crabcake on a roll. I can't wait to try everything else they have to offer. And they make milkshakes! MILKSHAKES!
