More Figurehead Than Absolute Ruler - Edit
Firstly, this not a coffee shop; not by any definition I would use anyway. Secondly, while it had all the charm and elegance you might expect of a venue within a 5-star establishment, the reality of the experience didn’t quite live up to its surroundings. This is not to say that the food was bad, quite the contrary, it was other elements that tarnished my enjoyment, namely the service. Ranging from blasé or downright cold, the staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than conducting even tokenistic check-ins. However, as aforementioned, I did eat rather well, the vegetable broth had a good depth to it, the samosas were moreish and the moussaka was really rather good. Somewhat surprisingly, the best dish I had was the quinoa salad; it had a wonderful range of textures and complimentary flavours that I truly wasn’t expecting from such a banal sounding option. The only issue with the dining element was that there weren’t more choices to aim for.
