Amazing to have incredible vegan Italian food in the heart of the beautiful island of Ortigia. The cocktails were incredible, the starters and pasta were exceptional, the setting on a warm September evening idyllic, and the welcome and service were charming. A truly memorable experience in every way.

The sushi was ok (but so tiny) and the cheese plate was pretty but the blandest I've ever tasted other than the smoked one. The others lacked flavor and all tasted similar. The pistachio cannoli dessert was yum.
The experience: disappointing. Our pasta order was forgotten. We ordered at 7.20pm and after patiently waiting for more than an hour (and no wait staff coming over to the table to even ask us if we wanted a drink), I inquired about it. 20 minutes later, still nothing. The table next to us who arrived when we did had gone and other tables that sat down after us were eating the carbonara I had ordered probably while they were out somewhere else having aperitivos.
At this point, it was nearing 9pm and I went to speak to another staff member. At first, they suggested that I just pay for the starters already eaten or get the food take away (!), and couldn't tell me why I hadn't received my meal. The staff member who originally took our order was rude. I was offended. I explained that I had traveled to Syracuse just for this meal, waited hours for them to open, and had an hour long drive left to get to Catania. I also told them I came to support their vegan business and at 9pm, where else was I going to find decent vegan options?
We finally got our food and what seemed like a genuine apology and they knocked the final bill down which we appreciated. We did notice other tables waiting a long time for their meals too, but just not as long as us.
Good food, but you shouldn't leave a dining experience feeling like crap.

Siamo stati a mangiare ieri sera al Moon io vegano e 3 amici non vegani. Siamo stati tutti e 4 molto soddisfatti sia dalla varia scelta del menù che dai piatti. Tempura ottima e leggera, sushi molto particolare e carbonara cremosissima. Prezzi onesti visto il tipo di ristorante. Servizio gentile e preparato, ci hanno anche svelato il trucco per l'ottima salsa della carbonara che senz'altro proverò a replicare.

Rare to find vegan Italian food that is high standard whilst also being in a cool beautiful building with an outside seating area. Good prices. Best to ignore the daft concept hype eg - ‘moon’ stands for move Ortigia out of the ordinary ! Busy bustling place - great staff, nothing to not like. Don’t need to deliberate on this. Also menu range covers most tastes from Italian classics veganised to pretend cheese and meat (which isn’t for me)

Went here when visiting Sicily with my Italian in-laws. This was their first vegetarian/vegan experience, and I wanted to show them that you can eat fantastic healthful food and it be plant based. Really nice setting inside or outside, serving up great food with creative options and fantastic service. Tried the cheese board, mozzarella starter, carbonara, tempeh spaghetti, cannoli, tiramisu, burger and cheesecake. I wouldn't recommend the burger and was slightly disappointed being that it wasn't anything special, definitely should have chosen a more creative option. Every dish was tasty, as were the drinks. It's not cheap, but for something a bit nicer it's perfect.

We've been coming to Moon for years now when we go back to visit my wife's family and the food is amazing - it even managed to win over my meat obsessed dad on our last visit. Great venue, lovely staff, amazing vegan cheeses and really varied menu. 100% recommended for anyone (vegan or not) to visit.
