Mr NonNo has been on my wishlist for a while now and I have to say that we certainly enjoyed a tasty breakfast here today. The interior was nice with a lot of cozy and private spots in a relaxed atmosphere and there were lots of (board)games to choose from. You order through a website, which isn’t new to me, but don’t have to pay right away which I find to be a more personal experience than other places I’ve visited since you do have to walk up to the counter at the end of your meal. There are a decent amount of drinks available including more intriguing ones like a smoothie with aloevera. The only con regarding the drinks is that even though the pancakes themselves are made from almond milk, plantbased milks require a 90 cent upcharge. Not very 2025 proof, I hope they are considering changing this in the near future.
Read moreThis restaurant offers a bunch of different food items, but I doubt people order anything other than pancakes in the morning because that’s all I saw coming out of the kitchen. The pictures on the food-order-website don’t do the pancakes justice; they are very big. From what I can tell all of them are vegan but the toppings sometimes aren’t. The website didn’t state what was and what wasn’t vegan that clearly so I used the physical menu as a guide. My associate went for the Breakfast Overload pancakes with soy yoghurt. I wasn’t feeling like having bananas but nearly every sweet combination had them and there was no way to switch an ingredient out for another. This is why I had to ‘build my own pancakes’ and this ended up costing €3 more than the pancakes with way more toppings than the 4 I chose. I went with dates, walnuts, maple syrup and cinnamon stewed apples. I liked my combination a lot, but the walnuts could’ve been crumbled to bite-sized pieces as well as the whole pitted dates that were slapped on. It looked pretty but that was about it. The stewed apples were a nice surprise though, I loved them.
Overall, I’d definitely consider coming back here in the future. The food came out very fast and though there wasn’t much interaction with the staff, they were nice whenever we asked for assistance. The pb milk thing is too big of an issue for me so other than that you can consider my rating to be 4 stars instead of 3.
Pros: Tasty and big pancakes, Stewed apples, Affordable breakfast option.
Cons: Plantbased milk upcharge, Excessive pricing on the ‘build your own’.

Delicious pancakes for a good price. I had the triple fruity pancakes on three different occasions and they were great every time. I only wish the cost of plant based milk in drinks was lower.

A nice and quiet cafe tucked away in the Blaak area of Rotterdam. I ordered vegan pancakes with walnuts, avocado and peanut butter. The pancakes were cooked to perfection. The melted peanut butter, the mildly roasted walnuts and the fresh avocado cuts, complemented the pancakes perfectly. Besides the good food, the coffee was excellent, and they pretty much leave you to yourself. Loved the place.

Goed aangegeven wat veganistisch en vegetarisch was. Het eten zag er eerst wat weinig uit, maar het vulde goed. Jammer dat het bestellen via een QR code moest.

Voor heerlijke vegan pannekoeken moet je naar Mr Nonno. De oreo versie of met fruit is heerlijk. Zeker een aanrader als je (zoete) trek hebt. 😍🥞

My first visit to a Mr Nonno (Italian voor granddad), I chose the pulled jackfruit on roasted bread and on pancakes as a take-away. My partner and I were both convinced we would visit this restaurant again because it was delicious!
