Beautiful place

I visited Ogura Cha-Ya when I was in Arashiyama last year. This place is absolutely beautiful, located in a bamboo forest, with a gorgeous garden and traditional interior 😍 I don't speak Japanese but managed to ask the kind lady for a vegan meal and received this cold udon with dipping sauce. I think they customized it for me. It was very yummy and eating in a place like this was such a magical experience!

Pros: Beautiful interior, Kind staff, Outside seating

Cons: Not many vegan options

Solid Soup

Staff was very friendly and speaks english. Vegan soup was labeled as "vegetarian", staff assured that the soup is made without animal products.

Soup was a little bit light in flavour, so don't expect too much. But a solid choice, so when you are nearby, in Arashiyama, and hungry you can go for it.

Pros: Staff was very friendly, Solid Soup, Location

Lovely Traditional setting

I loved the traditional vibe in Ogura Cha Ya. Perfect to eat and rest after visiting Arashiyama.
